From that game the mystics are entirely beatable. Maybe if Vui has played the whole game t
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 14 #1329020Wow wonder why Parata wanted to try and improve Dunn and Ekenasio’s accuracy. They are two of the most accurate shooters in the league. I thought a couple of the main problems for the Pulse this season were the in game substitutions and playing players out of position which are both the coach’s calls.
What successes did Parata have with the Scottish team?
Wonder if Metuarau will return to the Pulse next year…
in reply to: CENTRAL PULSE 2021 #1328929I’m surmising that key players in the Pulse are being canvassed on whether they plan to return to the Pulse next season.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 14 #1328916@NZ champion -accurate summation of the Pulse’s season. Will be interesting how many of the key players return to the Pulse next season. Not sure how Tibble got the GA starting role. Also thought Mason and Lokotui got virtually no court time. Nawai left on even when she was getting comprehensively outplayed. Mason and Lokotui were at least as good as Nawai.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 14 #1328808Hope Dunn gets given a chance at the Ferns. She is consistently good. She hasn’t let any defences dominate her this season and has a natural stroke. Have not seen her shooting get out of rhythm in any game this year. With a better GA out in front of her the Pulse would have been in the finals running.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 14 #1328803Wow superb game. Metuarau stood up big time. Fisher was getting hammered by Harrison. Not getting the calls. Metuarau’s combination with fisher was fabulous.
Steel are my faves since Pulse didn’t do well this season. Hope the Steel take out the championship. Can’t believe that all these players that were benchwarming for the pulse are stepping up big time. Metuarau, saviinea, Temu. The experience against more physical defences will stand Fisher in good stead internationally.- This reply was modified 2 years, 8 months ago by Kwkiwi.
in reply to: If I had to pick a Silver Ferns team tonight #1327921Nweke, Wilson, Metuarau,Dunn
Crampton, Saunders, Toeva,Kersten
Jury, Fitzpatrick,Watson, BurgerWill be interesting to see if Nweke passes Taurua’s fitness standards, the ones that have kept Dunn out of the Ferns contention in the past.

in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 12 #1327844I think Mes gets enough opportunities to shoot at Mystics, it’s just that she’s missed a lot this season. She can rebound but not shoot that well, especially under pressure. Vui doesn’t have that problem of not being able to get enough shots away playing alongside Nweke.
Will be interesting to see if Taurua includes Mes in the ferns squad on the back of this season’s form and court time. Vui looks to be the better shooter. Vui’s got a good long shot as well.I also think Metuarau is playing well at GA this season.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 12 #1327815Watched the mystics stars game. Nweke is just about unstoppable. Nobody in the Anz league can out rebound her including Harrison. Would be interesting to see how she gets on against the aussie defenders. Surely mystics should give Vui a full game at GA or at least give her the start. Toeva must be in the runnings for ferns selection.
Hume definitely not a very clutch shooter at crucial times. She missed too many shots I thought.in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 11 #1327360Sam Winders would be better off moving to a different team next season.
in reply to: 2021 SSN ROUND 8 #1326880Agree al_ex I see Fisher fitting in well somewhere like the tbirds. Even though she struggled against Harrison she would get used to that marking. Besides Harrison seems to be closer than three feet a lot of the time and it doesn’t get called. All the good import shooters seem to start in NZ and move over to ssn. I also agree with you that Fisher is most definitely the third ranked English shooter behind Harten and Housby.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 10 #1326813Don’t really think Dunn is the problem at the pulse. As a matter of fact the losing scorelines would have been worse without her. She definitely didn’t look bored either. That’s just her normal demeanour.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 10 #1326782What an abysmal half hearted effort by the Pulse. We need one of the mystics shooters as a second option. Why did Parata not switch Nawai and Jury? Nawai was getting comprehensively outplayed by Nweke. Jury’s natural position is goal keep, especially when there’s a tall holding shooter on the other team..All those other substitutions Parata made, made no difference at all. I’m predicting a few of the top line Pulse players will leave the Pulse at the end of this season.
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 9 #1326575I’d like to see Dunn considered for the Ferns, being a Pulse supporter. She’s such a good shooter. Must be close between her and Nweke. I can’t imagine Nweke being any fitter than Dunn. Would be good if Metuarau got selected too. Semple impressed me. Not many shooters can shoot long like that. She’d be great in the SSN league ?. I hope Toeava gets considered for the Ferns. She’s been exciting to watch this year. that’s my two cents worth…
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 7 #1325162Good game. Great league this year with all the close games. Ridiculous giving Wilson MVP after that drop shoulder on Watson. Wilson should play rugby.
