Going to bed each night, worried the fires are getting closer, will they join? The losses have been just awful, fb loves showing all the gruesome pics, just makes you cry. Daughterinlaws boss was caught in Mallacoota, ended up on Sunrise tv, God love her. But end of day we knew we were in for a bad summer, with no burnoffs, no stock able to roam the parks, it’s just been as waiting game. Sadly it isn’t over yet. They say Victorians have had rain? Really? Mallacoota 0.8mls, Bairnsdale had maybe 2mls and we’ve had 2.2mls. Hardly enough to put out a camp fire.

I’m in Victoria, Echuca. It’s hell on earth 🥺🥺🥺. Our biggest nightmare would be the Sydney fires joining the Aslpine ones in Victoria.

Don’t think SR is a no brainer and I’m not saying Bailey is. Nor is Maria’s future clear, she has to be signed to a club.
I’d take Maia BUT if Maria is there Maia has to be used, not bench sitting. Not much point taking shooters but only constantly using two all the time.

Think you’d find that was Maria’s choice. No fuss, end of. Maybe she’ll be at Quad series? Maybe something else is in the pipe work to recognize her? Without playing other shooters like LA did I think the Ferns will have to pull lots of rabbits out of there hats. Plus others made WC game successful, Jane Watson, Katrina Rore, where do you start and finish? In saying that if it was Maria’s last appearance, they have blown the chance to publicly acknowledge her but again maybe it was her choice. She’s had how many yrs of fame, maybe wanted it away from her?

I agree it didnt work
Regardless of whether is was Bailey/TP/Maia playing. I don’t agree with all the contacts called in a 5 minute spree.
The only thing I like about LA is she rotates ALL the players. We’ve put ALL of our eggs in one basket, Maria/Meels, and only won by 1 point. The other 3 shooters have had zilch game time so to expect them to jump running is alot. It was bound to go belly up, the umpire just speed it along.

My understand was the umpire had games in Singapore right up until the last minute then quickly caught a plane to land in Perth just in time for the Diamonds training session. Either the offer wasn’t extended or it was too late in the day for the same to happen with Ferns. Roles reversed Diamonds wouldn’t be happy if Ferns did this, Diamonds got the rough end of umpire and lost. Fair call?
You don’t mind loosing if your crap but you do mind loosing with all the inconsistency.

If you’re worried about umpires feelings, try putting yourself in Bailey’s. She’s always getting crucified. Umpires calls either make or break a game. Whether it was right or wrong putting Bailey on it was Nolenes decision.

I’d have surprised but pleasantly if the Ferns had won. Winning by 1 point in past games is always dicey. But yes it would’ve been a better fairer game if umpires were different. When you hear the opposition’s commentators querying alot of calls that says alot. It’s not going to change outcome but doesn’t leave a pleasant feeling against LA and Diamonds. God imagine if the Ferns did that.

Diamonds got offered a chance to have the Umpires at there training which they took up on
Ferns weren’t given same option and found out after game

Was only a few games ago LA had a meeting with Umpires after a loss. Ironically the next game was the opposite in favour of Aus

Agree it wouldn’t have changed result
NZ were damn lucky to win games by 1 point
My point (lol) was if roles reversed am 100% sure Aus/LA would be absolutely livid at umpires.
