I think it depends on the GA – both Hume, Metuarau and Vui seemed to contribute enough volume wise in spite of a dominant GS. Hopefully they are coached to do so.

I think the fact that Lokotui got a lot of court time, and will now be a starting player, suggests that Mason hasn’t earned the court time.

Pulse also confirm Masson has been dropped to a training partner, while Amaru-Tibble and Rowland will not be returning to the side.

I think Walmsley is a great pick up for the Pulse, who have a record of bringing in young shooters at this level (Wilson, Dunn, Metuarau).

    Pulse:

Aspiring young shooter Amelia Walmsley and experienced defender Temalisi Fakahokotau will ply their trade with Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse in 2022.
The in-coming pair will join the well-performed returning midcourt trio of Whitney Souness, Maddy Gordon and Paris Lokotui while rangy defender Kelly Jury will also be back in yellow and black.

I hope so too – but I fear we’ll be getting a retirement announcement from Mes today.

The SSN big wigs would be breathing a huge sigh of relief over this result…

I agree there are heaps of good bench shooters up North that are good enough to be starting, Malesala, Falkner and Semple (if fit).

I think this is fantastic for the Magic however I hope they keep Eke at GA, not GS! If they can bring over O’Connell (who is probably surplus to Steel requirements), that would be a versatile front line with Williams.

So I wonder if JWT was the coach the Pulse approached to replace Parata?

Don’t forget the salary tier system will be having an impact. But yes it seems the Pulse have picked Metuarau over Ekenasio, perhaps they are beefing up the defence end considering Rore isn’t coming back.

Without Poi, they will be putting a lot of faith in Toeava on bring that midcourt speed. Toeava has yet to show that at a test level.

I think they are keeping Gordon as she is a genuine WA/C/WD cover, very useful for tournaments

A number of players are currently on return to play plans being managed by Netball NZ staff in consultation with ANZ Premiership teams to support their return to international netball. These players were not considered for selection but will continue to work with Silver Ferns staff in the coming months.

These players include; Michaela Sokolich-Beatson (rehab of her Achilles), Bailey Mes (noted above, rehab of her knee), Phoenix Karaka and Katrina Rore (maternity leave), along with Kayla Johnson.

The big news was Poi being dropped to the development squad after becoming the starting C in the Conn Cup… Also Tong over Temu.
