in reply to: 2023 Australian Netball Awards #1367031
Unfortunately since the Wallam debacle. netball has has no good press. The MSM just like to report the drama and not on the sport itself.
All the comments and reactions I see of the laughing emoji makes me sad that the rest of Australia think netball is a crap sport and not worth watching. What I think needs to happen is NA need to pay a PR firm to fix the sports image. If they can do that then hopefully more sponsors can come on board, that way the players can get a bigger cut. Right now it’s not feasible if the sport is tanking.
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366973Is Nyah going to tbirds? Code sport article said she’s a potential for a club, no other clubs need a GA?
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366952Does anyone think Kelsey has decided not to play next year? Is that why we are seeing her in commentary?
Kelsey has always had better stats than Scherian.
Could it be Kelsey is hard to coach? Is that why we don’t see her in the diamonds?I’m very excited for this, I can see Uganda shaking up some teams.
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366939I feel like dming Obst telling her to pick up Maseko or Nassanga over Hume ????
I have a feeling they are waiting for Allen to have another year as tp under her belt, we need to remember she didn’t play at all last season.in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366930So the word is in Scherian to tbirds, I’m not mad at this. Looks like the tbirds are looking to swing Georgie into GA this season, given hume is hot or cold. I can see Scherian and Aiken on a one year contract so they can bring experience to the young attack line.
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366922Apparently the Tbirds are looking at an ANZP player Jamie hume, heard of her never seen her play. Worryingly her shooting percentage was only at 68% last season.
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366913So Allen is now following Obst, is that an indication she’s going to tbirds?
Aiken
Austin
Allen
Hojus
Miller
Williams
Petty
Wilson
Garrett
SterlingNot a bad team, full of youth, and the girls have tasted victory. Excited to see what happens next year.
Side note: Aiken will be a good mentor to the young attack end.
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366912Besides from Petty and Aiken the attacking end is 21 years old, so very young. I’m 90% sure Miller will be signed, she’s following all tbird tp’s so maybe she’s been working with them in the off season. The only mystery is the GA option, they’ll need another player if they need to swing Georgie in wa. If it’s not Allan, who will it be? Maybe they are looking to recruit one or the NSL players and get them off their contract?
in reply to: 2023 Fast 5 Netball World Series #1366747Does anyone know the schedule?
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366702You forgot Tayla Williams.
I think they’ll keep Georgie at WA, because she’s a their liZ Watson.I noticed that Annie miller is following a lot of Tbirds training partners so maybe she’ll sit behind Georgie.
The big question is the GA. Hoping for Maseko someone who isn’t afraid to shoot.in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Aus v SA (Oct) #1366693I’ve just read SA most likely will not play the quad series as they’ve opted to play the African cup instead.
Will Jamaica play instead of them? I remember when this happened when Australia couldn’t play the quad series one year.in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Aus v SA (Oct) #1366635Blown away by the young SA talent, vdb, smith, Streutker and Maseko are the future of SA very strong. They just need contracts in the SSN!
in reply to: 2024 SSN SIGNING AND TEAM NEWS #1366634The tbirds need to pick up Maseko!! She’s going to be a superstar in the future.
in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Aus v SA (Oct) #1366575I think this years contract debacle has made it hard for internationals to come to Australia with all the uncertainty. Hopefully next year we’ll see some if the deserving ones get a spot. Id love to see some of the South African girls get a spot in the SSN, I can see it happening when some of the big names retire.
Speaking of diamonds, when RBD returns from injury, who will be dropped for quad series? I can actually see them taking Aryang and Garrett, maybe it will be retirement for Weston. I feel next year Garrett will take over RBD.
