in reply to: 2019 Australian Netball Awards #1285242
I really don’t see the hype around Price. She’s not terrible, but she isn’t the greatest either. She must have a good Fan base. Moloney, Langman, Hadley are streaks ahead of her IMO.
Everyone else on the NS team is correct I think.
in reply to: 2019 Super Club Competition #1285241Looking forward to this. The teams are quite competitive this time. Especially with the edition of the Magpies. Can’t wait to see Geva and Medhurst. It feels like such a long time since we have seen them. Also Wasps will be representing the Super league, so they will be hungry to stamp their mark.
I hope Noeline has her feet up somewhere on a beach because she definitely deserves it. Fingers and toes crossed that she stays on though.😉🤞
Good. May netball stay away from that Spark mess.
in reply to: 2019 Super Club Competition #1284786Agree with all of that mcleod. Exciting times ahead. We have waited ever so patiently for Miss F to return. I’m glad we have some solid players coming through. Teams are starting preseason, so it’s a good chance to hopefully showcase our young talents in the superclub.
Argh Jono.🙄 I wonder if he still gives out lectures. 😂
in reply to: 2019 NZ Netball Awards #1284758This is Pure. Was an awesome insight to the rise at the World Cup. Starting from the CWGs to the WC final. Definitely a tear jerker and some interesting insights. Bailey Mes mentioned that in the past they would have fitness tests, but when it came to selection. They didn’t matter.
Then followed up by the Award ceremony which was cringy at times with that guy who is the apparent face of netball. Can someone sack him lol.
The targets set by Noeline were just brilliant. Progress was monitored weekly and most of the girls were exceeding their previous scores. Noeline built her team beautifully in a short space of time.
I thought the crowd were disappointing, very conservative, clapping on cue. Would have been nice to have a fan section. But overall a great night of watching our netballers celebrate their achievement.
in reply to: 2019 Rugby World Cup #1284527Well done England! 😂 Never been a thugby fan. Yay this confirms Silverferns will take out the Helberg awards.
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 4 (Perth) #1284462Thwaites is retiring!
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 3 (Sydney) #1284258Remember it’s one solitary goal.😂 Don’t panic too much. I think the Diamonds have been rebuilding since Geitz left the 1st time. Then when players played well in the SSN, it was assumed that form would naturally translate onto the International stage. For the most part, it’s true for some players. But a little more respect needs to go to level required for internationals. It is another level, the pressure is harder with no time outs. Things need to be figured out in the moment. I’m not saying bring back Medhurst, Ingles and throw a bib on Sharni Layton, but boy their experience would certainly help.
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 3 (Sydney) #1284171I’m very happy with that win, but that was a heart stopper of a game!
Again anyone could have won and Langman with that last intercept sealed the deal!
One thing I like about the Diamonds is how they can mix players up almost seamlessly. Sherian feeding Vixen shooters for one. That’s just insane how well it comes together.
Bruce should never come off imo. Yep she gets figured out during a game, but then she starts hunting in the midcourt and causes havoc further up.
Watson/ Burglar combination started to come together after starting badly. They started to switch on their players much better in the 2nd half.
Langman is just a netball genius. She would be so annoying to try and defend lol. Very good game, she definitely uses all her players around her these days. The pass and catch passing machine.
So do we have to win by 5 or 6 in Perth? Not sure how it all works anymore.
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 3 (Sydney) #1284127Messy start for SFs. But sort of tidied it up towards the end. We really need another option to partner Watson in GD. Burger is great, but the communication between the two isn’t there. Which I think was part of Karaka playing well there. Or maybe they need just more time to gel.
Bruce is being her awesome self. Really getting in between passes and disrupting play.
Good game so far though only down by 3.
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 3 (Sydney) #1284121Medhurst looks beautiful in commentary! She looks younger!
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 3 (Sydney) #1284113I hope to see different structures and processes played by the SFs. Whatever they were doing has been figured out by Lisa. Which is kinda what happens when you put the same product out there. Ball is in your court Noeline.
Congrats to the Diamonds! 🤩 Amazing performance overall. Congrats to Lisa on her 100th! This is one tournament that Lisa thrives in!
Bruce was obvious MVP! So awesome and gutsy.
I love the name Karin Burglar!😍 She’s such a hustler! Very strong hands in a tussle for the ball.
Back to the drawing board for the team. I loved our defensive efforts. But the defensive wall from the Diamonds starting with Bruce was amazing to watch. Weston cuts off those bounce passes so we’ll. I thought Rore did well on both of her opponents. Liz Watson was the secret ingredient tonight. She was everywhere she needed to be. Not too worried about the margin. We saw glimpses of potential with Mes and Souness. I love the energy and speed from Souness. Saunders got a tad caught out by Brazil. After having a blinder on Sunday. But its good to see our bench is quite strong. Despite the result.
