in reply to: How user friendly is the forum for you? #1287278Thanks for the offer of donations. It looks like the donation button is broken, which I noticed a while ago but may have omitted to put in the To do list for the web master. Will get onto that, and then put up a post pointing you to what I hope is a shiny, and prominent new Donate page. Please keep saving your money to give us an even bigger donation when we are ready for it.
in reply to: How user friendly is the forum for you? #1286333Thanks for your comments, people. Sorry about the delay in following-up – I have been doing lots of palliative care for a friend, and netball just did not seem so important for a while.
I have recorded all of your comments and will ask our web administrator for a quote. Thanks to those of you who offered to donate to support this project; I will get back to you with a figure when we have sorted it out.
Just as a quick background for those of you who did not see the original discussions: the website structure was old, huge and unwieldy, (a verandah attached to a shed with a lean-to garage and a pergola on top, all built on a swamp, if you get the analogy) and we were warned that it would fall over completely, and should build a new one. So we did, and used a web designer based in Australia, rather than in the USA, as the previous one was – she was terrific and supportive, but had graphic limitations and the time zones were an issue. The new designers quickly realised that the old site was ten times larger than most sites, so we had to go more slowly than planned with the transfer, and are still finding bits that must have dropped off in the process. It is also clear that there were things that we users took for granted that were not obvious to the new web designer.
So, watch this space.
As this is the most active thread at the moment I will hijack it to ask you to have a look at this thread
and give us your views ASAP
Is there likely to be a replay of Eng vs NZ posted here?
in reply to: More VNSL signings #1285804Sigh. For years we have had to put up with Gary and Phil Neville’s little sister, and now we have Paul Scholes’ daughter. Wanna bet he gets more prominence in all the interviews than she does
in reply to: 2020 SUNCORP SUPER NETBALL #1285769I note that NA’s media release about supporting the bushfire relief funds mentions the Team Girls Cup, but I cannot find mention of it on either the SSN or NA websites. Is there any indication of when, as well as where? Last year it was the weekend of 8th March, but as SSN is starting later this year I wonder if it might be shifted to April
in reply to: Silver Ferns set to unveil new captain #1285767Watson or Ekenasio for me. You need a player who is certain to be selected, and who is reliable if not inspirational. Every time Jane Watson goes near the ball there is a real chance that something spectacular might happen, which is what you need when a side is down. Eke was reliable and ice cool in the most recent tournaments. It would also be great to see a mother taking on the role; for all the number of Silver Ferns mothers in the past, I don’t think any of them have taken on captaincy duties, and it would be a terrific model of what mothers can do if given the right support.
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 4 (Perth) #1284616Polite WA crowds – no booing of the umpires, and reasonably warm applause for the PM, who had the wisdom to not say anything
in reply to: 2019 CONSTELLATION CUP AUS v NZ TEST 4 (Perth) #1284614Brilliant, gracious acknowledgments from Captain Fantastic Langman

The post game tears would suggest otherwise
