Palavi from Tonga, Makunde from Zimbabwe and Rauluni from Fiji prove the standard of the state leagues in Australia.

If some of these Overseas players cannot make SSN, the state leagues would be the perfect start.

I forgot to add, a Horjus/Austin circle has so much potential for the TBirds to make Top 4 :bye:

The TBirds need to move Horjus to the shooting circle and recruit a GS/GA swing like Nyah Allen or Uneeq Palavi.

On the other hand, they need a specialist WA who can work wonders with the shooting circle. Someone like Kelsey Browne or Annie Miller would fit perfectly well.

Horjus has to be the starting GA now that Dwan is rumoured to have left TBirds. She can swing to WA and knows how to transition between both positions (great move to push her for Diamonds selection).

Is it possible for the TBirds to snap someone signed up in the NSL? I know it has happened in the past with Jade Clark when she had originally signed with Loughborough Lightning but had played for 3 rounds before joining TBirds.

The TBirds should negotiate something with Taljaard cause the lack of quality GA’s available is worrying.

As a TBirds fan, Cardwell’s departure makes me worried. I cannot think of a replacement thats upto par with Cardwell.

The only unsigned names that come to mind are:

                Uneeq Palavi
                Abigail Latu-Meafau
Nyah Allen (most likely snapped by Fever)
                Natalie Medhurst?
                Kaylia Stanton?
                Charlie Hodges?

I wish England threw in Alice Harvey in the second game to see how the Ferns midcourt would’ve reacted having someone taller then Walmsley defend her (unless they’re gonna unleash her as their secret weapon ????)

On the other hand, the Ferns were more hungry this time and I expect to see a fired up Roses squad for Game 3.

Giants need a strong defence end as this has been their weakness since they debut. I’d grab Ward and maybe look at another shooting option as Harten might not last another SSN season without injury impacting her.

@StatsNerd21 you are correct. I had forgotten she had signed with them.

On the other hand, I would love for Palavi to be signed by a SSN team.

I’m not too sure if you all can recall but there was an article on Code that the Tbirds were rumoured to sign an English shooter and everyone thought it was Berri Neil. Apparently, Emma Thacker is yet to be signed by an NSL team and it seems like all the teams have their squads announced ????????????

She had signed with Leeds Rhinos last season but was injured for most part of the season. And with Geva there now, wonder who could snap her.

I agree that Giants need a tall GK and Smith from South Africa would be a good target. Tall, jumps, great lean and her best position is in fact GD.

I’d have to agree with everyone’s thoughts. While I am happy that they are exposing the upcoming players, I feel like Eng tends to throw player debuts up in the air.

This would’ve been the perfect opportunity to test Tchine and maybe bring back players such as Panagarry/Quashie into the group.

You never see Australia/NZ throw debuts like that at a test series especially against a Top 4 side.

Clubs that are in need of a smart and creative GA should go for Taljaard. Her court awareness is out of this world and her shooting and creativity makes up for her height. If I were the Fever, I’d already be in talks with her.

I’d sign Palavi as well. She is a Victorian Pathway Player that has been ignored for so long.
