I know Tbirds have signed so many imports over the years but I would like to see them sign Cardwell. A good player who knows how to hold strongly and can shoot from range too. Potgieter has lost her long range shooting and needs to re-adjust herself to get closer to the post which is costing the Tbirds.

Nah I’ll leave Nweke out. One of the many reasons she is good in the ANZ is simply because Toeava is feeding her. I don’t think Toeava will make Ferns squad so who would feed her perfectly then? I know Saunders has fed Fowler in the past but during the Nwekes international stint, the feeds to her were a 50/50. Add to the fact that Nweke rarely shoots from distance and that would be a big problem on the international stage.

I maybe wrong but I think Sophie Fawns becomes the first Asian Australian (Asian Mom) to play at the SSN. And what a debut!!! Deserves a contract.

Thank goodness Claire Iongi played in the Pacific Series last week for Tonga and she was phenomenal. I think she would step up for the Giants defence this week.

Just curious whether Jazz Scott counts as an import for Pulse or does she have any NZ links. Jazz is a former Team Bath player and went through the English netball pathway system. Great to see her back playing at elite level.

Despite Team Northumbria being scrapped from the Superleague few yrs back, it’s such a joy to see their pathway players reap the rewards yrs later and showcase talent from the North East region:

Emily Hollingworth & Brie Grieson (Leeds Rhinos)
    Iman Thomas (Severn Stars)
And just last night during the Lightning match – Ella Bowen (Loughborough Lightning).

It’d be a dream to see a team from the Northumberland region rejoin VNSL 😌

Congrats to Serena on an outstanding career!

Talking about replacements, I think it’s due time we give Nat Panagarry her permanent spot. She’s been so impressive and has improved over the years. I do understand that she has gotten the Roses gig here and there. But I’d love to see for once get that starting spot and not be used as a bench player or even an England A squad.

@Tully Wilson can also play Center as well. She’s very versatile, similar to Jolene Henry and I’m glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves.

There’s just something about the SC Lightning picking up underrated talent from the Fbirds and turning them into superstars. For years, the Fbirds overshadowed Scherian and she exceeded at Lightning when given a chance. Now we might just see the same with Hinchliffe and Batcheldor.

Cat’s interview with Coconet TV. Unfortunately Cat had a miscarriage while in Italy 🥲😩 she also discusses everything from Netball to family.

I’ll have to stop you there on your comment about Malcolm. Yes, I would agree that Malcolm is not very effective at WA and C, however she masters the WD position as that is the position she plays the most throughout her career.

On the other hand, I think Mentor needed to stay on court. I felt like Guscoth was the one that needed substitution with Francis-Bayman. She was giving away too many penalties as her fatigue started to creep in. Housby and Cardwell needed to swap positions as well once the Diamonds was on a run.

Regards to umpires, I think some of the calls were questionable especially that push Guthrie did against Brazill and no call was made.

I’m not gonna say anything and I’ll just wait for the Aus vs Eng game because that’s where we’ll see the flaws of the Diamonds exposed. I’m predicting that Bueta might get her work cut out from Mentor. And we’ll see how Bruce goes on Fisher/Caldwell, specifically Cardwell because she’s a feisty holder and this is something Bruce loves to play against.

I’d love to see Malcolm be brought on for Metcalfe. Nat is out running herself and and her drive to circle seems slow.

Also, still not sold on Fisher. I can’t wait for Eng to verse Aus and Fisher will get her work cut out against Bruce.

I mean take a look at last seasons ANZ Premiership. Poi made it look so easy for TPSR and Bird because she did majority of the hardwork (drives, feeds, deliveries). I mean I honestly don’t know what will Poi need to do more to impress Taurua 🤷🏾‍♂️

I might have to disagree with not having Poi. Poi is not only a great feeder but she’s really fast and athletic. And she actually runs non-stop during a 60 minute game. I think having Poi not only combats the speed of other midcourters like Guthrie or Watson but she offers fast delivery, drive and feed into the shooting circle. I watched the game against Aus and there were times when the Ferns would pass back to Burger and Johnson because Saunders, Crampton and Winders werent coming forward which allowed the Aussies to reset their defensive structures and cause tips and turnovers.
