as a tactix fan that game was hard to watch considering how well they did at the start, but i hate to say they usually “peak to early”
they are going to have to pull finger if they want to beat the mystics, they have done it before but its been very rare…

they say the 3/4 is the “championship quarter” but that never seems to be the case for the Magic, its almost the complete opposite… the magic have looked good on paper for a few years now but never seem to get much past a 4th place at best

@Wewood, Noeline has said the ferns are light on defenders too, if you think of Watson, Burger, Karaka are probably due for retirement by the next world Cup so she needs to start bringing some new ones in that are a bit younger, Takarangi should get another chance

the whole game of Tactix vs Mystics proves the Mystics arent anything without Grace, if she ever considers moving to a different team the trophy moves with her. Toeava is the star of the WA in the championship but she can only feed Grace, that showed a couple of rounds back when she was running around like a headless chicken

@silverferns1 i love that combo too i think it was used maybe once in the Quad series once Jane was back from having baby, alot of the commentators said they prefer Watson at GK as she has more time to defend the ball coming down the court but from memory she spend the little of 2020 season at GD.

@wewood i think Bird getting dropped by the Tactix for the 2023 season has ignited something in her saying she deserves to be there. Shes top of the table with her accuracy and putting goals up, would she still be up the top if Nweke and Warmsley werent injured? who knows… but loving her play

@wewood i might be a bit bias being a Tactix supporter, but also i have also rate Poi as a “fringe fern” she doesnt let the ball go into the shooters as much as she should, if she could just improve on that & with Gordon out probably for the next SF tournament maybe we could see her again in the black dress

I rate Poi at both WA and C, lets be honest if youre a centre you should be able to play WA or WD also, i think her silver fern selection issue she wouldnt let the ball go straight into the cirlce, if you watch Maddy Gordon she just lets it fly

@Mcleod as for Jane not being the capitan i assume once its handed over to another player its their responsibility and role now?

@silverfern1 agree Walsmley will need to harden up a bit if she wants to keep that black dress, last season the camera caught her with a few tears, we do forget they are still young though, Nweke used to get a bit emotional too

@nachosreturn I think Southby mate alot more fatal errors that Noeline, she always seemed to run and hide from the press, yet Taurua isnt scared to accept responsibility. None of the players seemed to praise Southby yet the complete opposite for Taurua. Also Kopu and Langman wouldnt of gone into that WC without Taurua as a coach, they werent interested in Southby.
