I wondered if Mason being on managed court time was due to NNL eligibility – if you played too much ANZ, you weren’t able to play NNL and the Pulse would’ve been able to use other players.
That’s my thinking around how often Tui was left on the Mystics bench but was carving it up for the Northern Marvels (or Comets, I get them mixed up).stars-supporterParticipantAugust 21, 2021 at 9:24 amPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantAugust 20, 2021 at 9:59 pmPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantAugust 19, 2021 at 6:19 pmPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantAugust 16, 2021 at 2:49 pmPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantAugust 10, 2021 at 5:48 pmPost count: 37
@al_ex – it might be easier to say who SHOULDN’T move to Australia and play SSN
I wonder if Poi has been given some specific points to work on and there hasn’t been any growth?
Also forgot to mention earlier that Hume’s call up is a reflection of the hard work and improvement in her game during the 2021 season. She’s one who was a bit guilty of low percentages and being too relaxed on court – her game has matured a lot and I’ve really been impressed at how she stepped up when Maia’s shooting game fell away.stars-supporterParticipantAugust 10, 2021 at 3:40 pmPost count: 37
Anna Harrison hasn’t re-signed with the Stars yet, has she? Could be a slot open – I would welcome Cullen back with open arms.
Surprising to see Temu over Maihi in the development squad. Agree with others that it was strange to see Poi dropped and Kersten retained. Personally I would have also dropped Gordon.
Lovely to see Peta being rewarded with a call up. Also stoked Heffernan is in the mix. Lots to be excited aboutstars-supporterParticipantJuly 25, 2021 at 8:37 pmPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantJuly 24, 2021 at 9:07 pmPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantJuly 21, 2021 at 5:02 amPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantJuly 18, 2021 at 7:12 pmPost count: 37stars-supporterParticipantJuly 18, 2021 at 7:10 pmPost count: 37
Nicely said NB12 – CBass was phenomenal (and dare I say, unstoppable) in her prime. Unfortunately time and injuries are not on her side and I would rather see the shooting spot opened up in 2022 to allow a developing NZ shooter to come up the ranks (Tui, Williams, Malesala) or at least an older head to mentor the new ones through (would love to see Kate Grant more regularly).
