in reply to: Ellie Cardwell signs with Thunderbirds #1346838
I haven’t really seen Cardwell play GS mainly GA but presumably she would be good there.
I think Fever should recruit Maddie Hinchliffe. Lightning can only keep one of Miller and M Hinchliffe and given how defensive their lineup is (4 circle defenders) they should keep Miller as it provides the team better balance. So if Lightning do go that way then M Hinchliffe would fit perfectly.
As for Sinclair it’s unfortunate she didn’t get a contract as she was good this season. If they do promote Allan (which they should) then it makes sense although I actually thought they could keep Sinclair over Lind. Sinclair can play WA (backup) and that is all Lind does. Will be interesting to see if Lind is resigned. Expect Newton who is also off contract will be.
RBD and Wallam sign for Firebirds.
There was a video of Singleton and O’Shanassy where they were offered their contracts for this season with Akle and Bulley. In that video they reference the fact Singleton had been a TP for a few seasons and that she wasn’t sure she could do it again. For that reason I don’t think she’ll be a
TP. It’s an incredibly tough gig to be a TP.I thought Singleton really stepped up over the season and was developing nicely. Could see her finding a home in the UK if she wanted to play abroad.
Cosh actually would be the perfect fit.
Unless they are planning to keep Wallam, Bueta, Aiken George and Stower with Stower to develop in WA as she has played there.
The decision doesn’t surprise me. Will be interesting to see who they recruit. Do they promote Gardner or look elsewhere to pick up someone off contract such as Nankivell, Williams, Miller or even Pitman?

in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346553Oh I completely agree @Netballcrazy1 I think they should be focused on a Austin – Samason circle. Kumwenda didn’t have a bad year but was high on turnovers, poor accuracy from range and not the target she once was. It’s just unfortunate Vixens haven’t moved that way.
The entire Vixens circle is under contract for next year.
in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346545@Netballcrazy1 I don’t blame Kumwenda. I blame McKinnis. Kumwenda is a dreadful super shot shooter. Everyone knows it. Puts all the pressure and focus on the GA in that period and they are suffocated so the feeders can’t get them the ball. Defenders want Kumwenda to get the ball. So why did Simone take Rahni off? Ridiculous. Throw in the fact Moloney has barely fed the circle all night so they had Watson trying to feed to a double teamed Austin, pretty obvious game play for Fever to work out.
For me the transition from Kumwenda to Samason should have already taken place. But it hasn’t.
Kumwenda is under contract for 2023.

in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346543@Netballcrazy1 super shot won’t have an impact. Kumwenda is on court. She shoots at 20% from there. Defenders leave her alone for this 5 minute period. Vixens couldn’t get Samason the ball last week for that reason and won’t be able to get it to Austin now.
in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346541Congratulations to Fever. Well deserved. Well coached.
(Glasgow should definitely be in the Diamonds squad over Garbin. How she isn’t is absurd).
Diamonds midcourt is looking very shaky.
in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346536Simone out coached by Dan twice now.
I love Rahni. I want her to be the Vixens GS but I’d understand if she left.
After refusing (for unknown reasons) to play Eddy in the circle all year
How and why is Moloney still in C with only 6 goal assists!
in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346528The way Vixens use Samason is infuriating. No time to gain confidence just go shoot super shots and pull back the lead that’s blown out. So frustrating.
Austin is having a belter especially given she just had covid.
in reply to: 2022 SSN GRAND FINAL – FEVER v VIXENS #1346525Half way through the third quarter and Moloney has 5 goal assists and 10 feeds. No where near enough work in attack.
