I don’t think KHWs past membership of the NA Board and that she was not reappointed was ‘kept out of the media’ during this dispute. The only relevance of this history is that it demonstrates the long standing issues around the lack of accountability of the board. KHW has been extremely professional in representing the interests of the players and in her interactions with the media during this dispute.

Watson could also have moved to centre with Hadley or JLP at WA. It worked for Vixens against Thunderbirds in their second SSN game when Wilson had shut Watson down in their previous game. JLP was playing really well at centre though. Can JLP play WA? She might match up well against Heffernan.

Great to see NZ looking more cohesive. Metuarau Was really effective today. Good to see that NZ have viable shooing options. I would also have liked to see Koenen back on at GA. Wonder if Bruce at GD may have been better too.

Bruce has worked her way into the game but I’m finding her more irritating than usual with constant pleas to the umpires.

Stacy FB is being much more professional in her commentary today. Maddy and Sue are great in Commentary together.

Fever starting to look dominant now.

Great game. So exciting to watch. Love this Tbirds team (even though I’m a Vix fan) and would be happy if they win the grand final.

Proud definitely let her emotion impact her performance today. I thought she was lucky not to receive a caution. Even Hadley played to the umpires at times and wasn’t her usual calm and efficient self.

Future mid court for Australia looks amazing with players like Williams, Horjus, Mundy, Mi Mi and Black.

I’m a little disappointed but not really surprised that Netball Tas is not applying for the 8th licence. Lead in time is just too short given the need to attract coaches and players, provide support, housing, elite coaching environment etc.

I’m curious about the reference to the minister touching on the immediate future of netball in Tas following the withdrawal of Collingwood! What did he say??? Are Collingwood paying back 2/3 of the 3 year sponsorship deal? Is that money going to be used to bring other teams to the state? It would be a shame to not have any ssn games in Tas in 2024/2025.

Game decided by super shots. Giants 9/15. Vixens 3/6. Vixens were a bit of a shambles in the last quarter.

Such a messy game! So many errors from both teams. Austin and Dwyer both look exhausted and have several turnovers each. Pressure of the last week having an impact?

That was a great game! Great atmosphere live. Collingwood played with so much heart. I’m not a Collingwood supporter but so glad I went. Great to be part of the crowd and see them go out with a win.

Good crowd in the Silverdome. Sophie looks like she is enjoying herself. Collingwood playing well.

I do understand the position NA are in and that financially they are not able to agree to current player demands.

However, the lack of good will between NA and ANPA and the overall playing group at elite level surely has its origins in the numerous decisions that NA have made over several years that impact players without (apparently) any consultation, or even consideration. In SSN this includes the extra points for winning quarters, the super shot and selling last years final to WA without discussing with clubs or players.

In relation to the Diamonds, making a questionable sponsorship deal which did not appear to be consistent with NAs espoused values, (of concern given their supposed commitment to improving indigenous pathways and representation following the indigenous round disaster, investigation and recommendations) and the pressure brought to bear on players during that particular saga.

Add in the timing of the current season in relation to the World Cup leaving little room for reasoned negotiations without the deadline pressure of naming the team and of having sufficient preparation time. (The timing of this season is ridiculous and not only impacts Australia but also England, SA and Jamaica in preparing for the World Cup.)

This particular problem is not all down to NA but their track record would not encourage trust and good will with the playing group.

I sided with NA when Collingwood announced they would not continue in SSN but I think NA have handled this very badly. By allowing it to become a news story they have backed themselves and the ANPA into a standoff with little time for a resolution. It must be impacting player welfare at a crucial time in the SSN season and their preparation for the World Cup.
