I could get around this ‘Guess the Tier’ game haha!! Lets play it for all the teams when we find out the squads
in reply to: NORTHERN STARS 2021 #1310794So Kate Burley & Fa’amu Ioane to Mystics you think Nesian??
This team is heavy on shooters but I guess Hume can play as a GA/WA slide.
I love watching Anna Harrison play but I would have preferred them to keep Kate Burley.
in reply to: Helen Housby to sit out round 9 #1310540Unfortunate for Housby. She’s such a slight frame so any soft tissue issue is going to do more damage to her than most players. Adding muscle mass will help but at the end of the day it comes down to body composition so there’s not a lot she can do.
in reply to: 2020 FANTASY NETBALL – SSN #1310510Me too Clayhay!! Dropped her two weeks ago after 4 or so weeks of very average games and since dropping her she’s probably had her 2 best games of the season.

in reply to: New Australian Diamonds coach #1310201Prepare to be surprised they say….does that rule out McKinnis given that she’s the clear frontrunner?? I have no idea if Jane Woodlands-Thompson applied but I really hope it’s her
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 7 – GIANTS v FIREBIRDS #1309855Brain fade from Hinchliffe with about a minute to go in that last quarter. Simpson clearly was the last player to touch the ball and she let it roll out instead of chasing it down.
in reply to: My Ferns Squad 2020 #1309747Yeah I rate Hume too but no where near accurate enough yet. Beautiful passer and moves well but need to hit 80-85% consistently to make the squad.
in reply to: My Ferns Squad 2020 #1309738My thoughts.
I really like the main squad Noels has chosen, bar Souness who’s form doesn’t warrant selection IMO. I also think Jury’s inclusion is strange given that Jane Watson has Bassett covered well and truly.
But…. I’d love to know if the Development Squad is ‘NZ A’ or not cause it sure as hell doesn’t look it. Where the hell is Kate Burley??? Picking Mikaere over her is a joke. Surely if you were ‘developing’ players you would pick the 23 year old IN FORM Burley over 32 year old Mikaere who is so far off the pace. Burley’s been in this development squad the last 2 years, then comes off a breakthrough 2020 season and doesn’t get picked!
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 6 – FEVER v FIREBIRDS #1309335Tippah Dwan was sensational.
That Fever attack is an absolute train wreck.
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 5 – LIGHTNING v GIANTS #1309139Send offs: Manu’a 2
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 5 – FIREBIRDS v SWIFTS #1308928Yet again Jencke brings Rudi Ellis on for the power 5 and opposition’s attack goes nuts with goals. How many games does this have to happen for her to learn?? Leave Hinchliffe and Jenner on the damn court!!
in reply to: My Ferns Squad 2020 #1308841Taurua said an 17 or 18 player Ferns Squad and then a 10 player development team. With Karaka’s pregnancy I think that definitely opens up a spot for Kate Burley.
My 18 player Ferns squad
Dunn, Wilson, Nweke, Ekenasio, Selby-Rickit
Crampton, Pederson, Souness, Saunders, Poi, Langman, Winders
Burger, Burley, Rore, Fakahokatau, Watson, Fitzpatrick10 player development squad.
Bird, Tui, Metuarau
Toeava, Gordon, Reuleu-Buchanan, Heffernan
Tong, Fifita, Jury.in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 4 – LIGHTNING v SWIFTS #1308717Yeah I agree, there is some tricky decisions. But she does a lot of unecessary shuffling which just unsettles everything (Klau moving back and forth between GK/GD, Hadley playing all 3 midcourt positions in 1 game etc). Straight swaps would be far easier for the Swifts.
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 4 – LIGHTNING v SWIFTS #1308711I’m a massive fan of running a starting 7 for the whole game and I think we saw the benefits of the Lightning doing just that today. In my opinion, rolling subs have given coaches an unnecessary urge to throw the bibs in the air. It’s somewhat understandable because players are playing 2 games a week but they are also recovering exceptionally well (take a look at some of the team’s Instagram to see) and they’re hardly training. It’s not a significant enough increase from their usual schedule to make 20 changes a game.
I hope the rest of the coaches take a leaf out of Kylee Byrne’s book.

in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 4 – FIREBIRDS v GIANTS #1308509I do not understand why Jencke persists with Venter at GA. She always brings her on as soon as the Firebirds attack begin to find their groove and then they fall into a pit.
