So does the above mean that the Constellation Cup series, about to begin, won’t be recognised by World Netball as one team has no players contracted?

Diamonds is completely separate. Nothing to do with this. Tests are good to go.

Oh right, thanks Ian. I thought that players had to be signed to a Franchise to be able to play for a country.

Very sad but not really surprising. I hope the mediation works, perhaps they should have investigated that route earlier

I feel like, for once, ANPA is being unreasonable. We have so much uncertainty in the next few years, and I get that they want to set a standard early in the league’s growth for what share they receive of different things but the reality is that until this 3 year deal runs it’s course and shows that the league is profitable and sustainable, they’re gonna have to agree to something that’s realistic.

I agree they’re being unreasonable. The deal looked good for me, there’s a growth in payment and a share in sponsorship revenue.
They need to realise to get a higher pay increase they need to appear to be sustainable option to gain lager sponsorship deals.

Netballs broke, let’s get them into the profits then talk about pay rises.

Who’s going to be the first to blink? Surely the players will start feeling the pinch?

Or, the players could consider what anyone else (non-athlete) does when they don’t like the remuneration offered by their employer – get a job elsewhere.

An admittedly quick read seems to be a sticking point for the players union is a revenue share. Surely the union and players must understand the difference between revenue and profit?

                                  Will read further…
