        1) If Thunderbirds win the final game of the regular season, they WILL finish on top of the ladder, no matter the results of other games. The Thunderbirds have a vastly superior percentage to Vixens and Fever, and losing is the only way they won’t finish on top.

        2) If Thunderbirds lose, and Vixens and Fever win, percentage will decide top spot. If Thunderbirds win and get top spot, the battle between Vixens and Fever is still very important as it will decide who finishes second and gets the double chance.

        3) Vixens play first, so Fever will know roughly what they need to do to overtake them. Percentage is tricky, but we calculate that Fever’s margin has to be at least 13-14 goals more than Vixens. 15 goals to be safe. We’ll keep you updated as it happens.

        4) The battle for 4th is straightforward. It’s all about wins. Lightning’s percentage is far superior, so Mavericks MUST beat Fever in Perth to have a chance. If they lose, Lightning is 4th. But if Mavericks win, then Lightning has to beat the Thunderbirds!

Thanks for unpacking that Ian. What an intriguing final round.

According to the broadcast, Moore and Dwan are signed for next year contrary to what we already knew.

Contracting period for players signing with other clubs starts August 5th.

                      1/4 time: VIX 15-13

It was a horror start from Firebirds as Vixens led 8-1 after 5 minutes. But the home side worked their way back into it. In fact, Wallam had a shot to tie things up near 1/4 time.

                      Gains: 3-3
                      Penalties: FIR 15-11
                      Turnovers: VIX 6-5

Rav is on in this second Q and now Moore comes on to replace Dwan. Vixens sticking with their starting 7 and they lead 23-19.

Love seeing Vixens give Eddy a crack at GD.

Geez, I hope that’s wrong about Moore and Dwan. Dwan is having an absolute shocker and Moore’s not much better.

I wonder if Wallam will be back at Firebirds next year? I feel like a fresh team would do her good, but there’s probably not a lot of options. Depends if Tbirds keep Romelda (I hope they do). Or maybe Swifts could be an option? Will Giants persevere with their current roster?

Always had the feeling she’s holding out for a JFN retirement to go back to Perth, but that doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.

                                3/4 time: VIX 46-36

Vixens far from perfect, but being helped by the Firebirds shooting % of just 68! Vixens edged a further 2 goals in front in that Q and will be looking to build on their lead.

                                Gains: VIX 10-7
                                Penalties: FIR 53-48
                                Turnovers: 15-14

D-Fencr… I doubt Wallam will be back somehow.
