Not a random question if I give context after I ask it 🙂 When is the netball world cup – what actual dates in 2027?

Trying to work out if a NZ SF or prospect SF played SSN for two seasons – 2025 and 2026 without an exemption – would they then have the time to play ANZ for a season and then be eligible for SF selection for it.

28 July – 6 August according to Google.

Both AUS and NZ finished their respective club seasons before NWC ‘23 (remembering the Ferns had ages together whereas the Diamonds only had two weeks and look how that went..)

NWC ‘19 if I remember correctly ANZP had finished and SSN was halfway through its comp and had a recess.

Yep. Don’t think they’ll be doing that again any time soon.

@WeWood thanks. I tried google but couldn’t find it.

In other news Firebirds have farewelled Ali? Miller.

“When can current SSN players be re-signed by their 2024 team?

Clubs have been able to do this throughout the season and can continue to do so until Friday 27 July.”

Are a lot of announcements going to be made or are a lot of people leaving there are quite a few players on one year contracts that i havent seen any resigning news. Veve is the only one i have seen

According to the netball show Wallam and Kamo have been dropped. Does that mean Bueta is set to make a return? Would Ervin or Jury replace Kamo for extra height?

Remi Kamo has NZ heritage (Ngati Mutunga) – wonder if she could look to move across the ditch and try her luck.

Could Wallam be in a pickle if RAG doesn’t move on from the Thunderbirds?

I don’t understand why RAG will leave Thunderbirds. She has been great for them.

If RAG decided to retire, I wouldn’t pick up Wallam her playing style won’t gel with the Tbirds imo. She’s in a sense like a Fowler and takes majority of the goals, that would mean Frew and Horjus wouldn’t get to shoot that often.

If there was an opening I’d choose Cholhok, she can move and allows the GA to come into the game.

I wonder how big is RAG loyalty to Rosalie Jencke? If she’s part of the coaching crew for next season, that might lure RAG back to QLD?
Add in if Gretel Bueta decides to make a comeback!

I heard Jencke didnt put her hand up for the roll. Neither did LA.
Would love to see that combo again, I wonder if Bueta is good to come back. 2 years out of the game.

Wallams deleted all of her social media posts regarding the Firebirds, the rumour is real!

Kamo would be a good pickup for Steel 🙂

I imagine Ekenasio will be aiming for a Queensland team.

Perhaps they are looking at an Ekenasio/Bueta circle, plus adding a tall option off the bench.
