Ugh I hate Fever games with Sue Gaudion and SFB in commentary. Might be a muted game for me…
1/4 time: Fever 17-15
A competitive first Q with Fever coming out on top 17-15. Little to split the teams. Maddy Proud not having a happy start to game number 100 so far with 3 turnovers.
Gains: FEV 4-1
Penalties: FEV 14-9
Turnovers: 4-4Champion Data always good for a laugh – Fawns to GD, TOS to GS.
Yeah, they sure were confused there!
1/2 time: Fever 41-31
Fever really put their foot down in that quarter, and Swifts struggled to keep up. Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard already has 38 goals, which is just 3 less than she scored last week!
Gains: FEV 8-1
Penalties: SWI 22-18
Turnovers: SWI 9-4That 2nd Q was really something. Going by these stats, Swifts are probably lucky to not be further behind…
Gains: FEV 4-0
Penalties: SWI 13-4
Turnovers: SWI 5-0Wonder who Swifts will target for a GS next year? Jok? Wallam? Romelda again? Fawns is great but they won’t win any premierships without a genuine post up shooter.
I think she’s great for anything but a Fever game, same as SFB. The bias is just a bit too strong, same as with Sharon Finnan-White for Firebirds games.
3/4 time: Fever 58-47
Sophie Fawns nailed 5 super shots late in the 3rd Q to get some respectability back into the Swifts score, but really Fever looks to have this game well in hand at the moment.
Gains: FEV 11-2
Penalties: SWI 37-26
Turnovers: SWI 13-8Full time: Fever 78-71
In front of another huge crowd in Perth, Fever gets the job done quite comfortably despite a great rush of super shots from the Swifts where they caught up 13 goals in the power five period! POTM was a dominant Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard.
I don’t mind Sue in commentary even for Fever games. Such an up and down game for the Swifts but you can’t buy this type of development and experience for Fawns. Agree that the Swifts need a tall post up
A new record for Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard with an astonishing 75/76 including 1/1 from super shot territory to contribute 76 of Fever’s total of 78 today.
