mcleod- I thought the exact same thing. Lots of frowns on their faces in the presentations.
Hey, did they name a player of the series?

No player of the series announced, Jackson got player of the game.
Thanks.
Series stats…
Shooting: NZ 88.8%-ENG 87.4%
Gains: NZ 33-15
Penalties: NZ 175-144
Turnovers: NZ 59-44Here’s a crazy stat…
Rebounds: NZ 30-5!The paris mason and Kelly jackson is going to a deadly combo to watch out for
The next Burger-Watson combo!
That turnover stat is shocking… and no improvement from the Ferns over the games.
Those rebounds would have been mostly Nweke. No ones going to win a one on one jumping match with her, not least of all the England defenders who were all giving away 4-5 inches to Nweke. Nweke is also a high jumper.
Going to be very interesting when she plays in the ssn and comes up against Sterling, Bruce, Wilson and Weston. I might start watching the swifts whilst she’s playing for them.
I think that last game was lost by the Roses, rather than won by the Ferns. Roses players looked quite tired and made a lot of mistakes. The irony is that the ferns still managed to turnover the ball even more… XD
Ferns defence was great. Penalties were much lower and Jackson really great over the ball and rebounds too. Mason reminds me a bit of Kayla Cullen when she used to play GD. I wonder if she could also play WD with Karaka going in to GD if she comes back for CC. I like Burger but her penalty count can get quite high and Heffernan is having a quiet year i think. The attack end was frustrating as ever. COB and Gordon much better with the quick release in to Nweke. But they just couldn’t get away from their defender or their timing on the drive was too early. Also, COB still quite green, moving way too high up the court a few times, and threw away a few bad passes, which i expect will improve with more court time since it was only her 2nd cap. Ekenasio needed to help out the struggling middies and come out in to the middle third a bit more, but her movement was much better in the 2nd half when she played on Fadoju. Nweke just brilliant.
Tchine has impressed me so much, she moves and holds well but also shoots from range at high accuracy and i could see her confidence building through the 2 series she played in. Housby looked tired. Pearson so impressive, she even managed to play GA fairly well, after all the running in WA. Middies were solid in defence, really troubling the ferns in that middle third. Fadoju is interesting. She is brilliant but she seems to play better against the Diamonds, than the Ferns. She might need to pick up WD as a second position like Latanya Wilson, as she is too short against the ferns shooting circle. Quashie not effective at all on Nweke. Williams also mismatched on height but her movement managed to cause a few bad passes from the ferns middies. I think she needs to stay in GD and roses need an alternate solution at GK.
The WA and C are still troubling to the Ferns. I thought COB was ok and Maddy found wanting quite a bit.
At least Noels kept them out there. Ekenasio has been below average for all 3 games.
Anyway be interesting to see who the Diamonds use at GA, as Keria Austin had a mere against Kelly J in the last Con Cup esp in NZ. I really hope Karaka returns. Heffernan not even used last night, and considering she isn’t a C options at all, maybe she might miss the cut for the CCI think Heffernan will make the team but poi may have had her last international showing
For Con Cup I expect Poi to drop out of the 12 unless Sounessā ankle complaint is a bigger issue.
I imagine Taurua would be pretty keen to bring Karaka back into the fold for Mikaere. Barring that Iād actually go with Burley over Mikaere.
No change to the shooters.
