Thought this would be interesting As state of origin is being played at the moment. Not sure if I’ve got any wrong, but fun to play around with it. All contracted players here and haven’t listed any replacement players

I’d love to see a classic QLD vs NSW state of origin for netball.
QLD: Koenen, Wood, Scherian, Cassidy, McAuliffe, Jenner, Hinchliffe
NSW: Dwyer, Austin, Hadley, Price, Braz, Brandley, Poolman.
I’d tip QLD by about 5 goals but would be a cracking match if all players were fully fit
It was interesting to see this discussed on Centre Pass. I’d love to see it happen in January or February when the Northern Quad Series is on. Have it as a week-long event before pre-season kicks into top gear. It would be quite popular and is a good thing for the Diamonds girls to do when all the imports are off playing elsewhere. It would be a great way to expose some ANL and less experienced players too.
It’s astonishing how many midcourters NSW has produced. There are 9 in that list and 6 of them have played for the Diamonds. The three who haven’t (Hay, Parmenter and Fraser) all probably could one day. Based on form, the team would probably be Hadley, Rav, Price and Brazill, meaning Simpson would make the Diamonds squad but not the NSW squad!
It’s interesting how different states seem to dominate different areas of the court. Almost all the top shooters come from QLD. NSW has the best midcourters and Victoria has the best Defenders. WA and SA have talent more spread throughout the court, especially WA who I think might even win if Wallam and Bassett were included in the side.
