1/4 time: Swifts 18-15
Great game so far. Sarah Klau having a good start against Jhaniele Fowler, and Paige Hadley having a great game in the midcourt. ATN playing well for Fever.
Really enjoying the Klau/Fowler and Aiken-George/Bruce match ups.
Halfway through the second quarter and Swifts maintaining the lead 27-24. They’ve done as good a job as anyone of restricting the Fever attack end.
This male commentator is obsessed with shooting accuracy.
How’s this for a game between Super Netball’s last 2 premiers! Helen Housby nails a super shot right on half time and we go to the break at 35-35.
Incredibly, ATN has 17 assists already which is the same as Paige Hadley and Maddy Proud combined.
Akle noting at the time out that the Fever’s main approach is to “bash the s**t out of you”. That’s some refreshing and amusing honesty.
Sophie Fawns now on for Helen Housby, and Teigan O’Shannassy comes on for Swifts with Klau moving to GD. Fever leads 52-46 as Glasgow nails a super shot.
Housby back on for the power 5 period and she nails 2 super shots but Glasgow adds two of her own at the other end. Fever 57-50
Jenner has had brilliant impact in GD, I’m enjoying watching her.
Swifts making some massive passing errors at the end of that quarter and Fever push on. They look better with Aiken-George on as an easyish option.
3/4 time: Fever 59-51
Well, that was a big Q for Fever who won it to the tune of 24-16. 7 costly turnovers against Swifts in that Q. Fraser now on at WA. Can Swifts turn it around in the final 15 minutes?
Approaching super shot time and Swifts are going to need them. Fever maintaining their 8 goal lead from 3/4 time.
Fever used to struggle in the power 5 period, but not any more. Sasha Glasgow is a star.
Full time: Fever 78-67
That was a good game. Swifts really took it to Fever, but they answered. Just a few too many errors at crucial times from Swifts, and you can’t afford to do that against Fever. Alice Teague-Neeld POTM with 32 assists and 3 deflections.
Sasha Glasgow must have gone close to POTM as well with 21 assists, 2 intercepts and 7/8 from 2 point territory. Courtney Bruce just did her thing again with another 9 gains, and an honourable mention to Kim Jenner who really made a big difference out there.
Congratulations to Sunday Aryang on bringing up her 50th national league game today against @NSWSwifts
Anyone else feel like that has gone super fast!
