I really don’t understand why Bruce would leave Fever to go to Lightning. Why?

Apparently she isn’t happy at Fever and wants to play under Belinda.
Dan did make comments saying it’s going to be a free for all and lots of players are changing clubs.

If Bruce moves to lightening. Where will Dehaney go? Fever with Fowler or maybe the 8th team?

If Cardwell leaves to play under Neville, tbirds could potentially pick up Wallace? She’s close with shamera.
Where will Nelson end up? She’s too good to not get a contract.

I’m hopeful that Cardwell won’t follow Neville. My understanding is they signed for Tbirds independently of each other (Cardwell first). Her partner had a job in Adelaide this year. Seems reasonably settled.

Would Nelson go to the new Victorian team? I can’t see her slotting in anywhere else?

Fever didn’t seem as connected this year. This is purely speculation but I imagine it would be challenging being in a team that is centred around one player, especially when you aren’t having the success you’re used to.

When Fever are playing well it’d be easy to just go along with it, but when you are losing games by one goal after being in front the whole game (this happened to them 5 times), that negative energy would set in. JF coughed up the ball a few times in 2023 due to poor decision making in the dying minutes of the game.

Fever probably need a succession plan or they will find themselves in hot water once Fowler moves on or if she has a significant slump in form.

Lisa Alexander mentioned it on CBass/Tairi podcast that Bruce wasn’t happy at Fever this year.

Another issue could have been the lack of defensive specialist as assistant coach. I didn’t realise the positive impact Reynolds had on the team until she moved, she is also a defensive specialist.

Could it be Dan Ryan, not instilling a good team culture amongst the playing group? Think back to when he was the head coach at Thunderbirds, it was a shocker.
Tbh if Bruce and other key players leave Fever i don’t see them making the top 4 next season.

In regards to Nelson, I hope she gets a contract in the new team, she has a life set up in Melbourne with her boyfriend and cats.

Thunderbirds in general were a nightmare back then. They have only just come good after years of mismanagement and team culture issues.

Dan has had his contract extended so if there were culture issues with Dan that were the cause of their big name captain departing, I imagine they would be taken seriously. Bruce has been a huge part of Fever’s success.

If Lisa A and Cath Cox supposedly know about the issues, then Fever would too.

Dan has won a premiership and they still made the play-offs this season, and only loosing by 1.
So even if there was some culture issues (or any type of issues), I can’t see Fever just dumping him. Not surprised his contract has extended.

Given the SSN post today about players moving clubs. I think it’s a given a Bruce and maybe Glasgow are on the move.
I honestly can’t believe Glasgow would want to leave since she has a connection with Dan.

Sooo Moloney is on the Sunshine Coast (based on her IG). Article on code says that a couple of diamonds are linked to SCL that would be surprising if they move…. This is in addition to Bruce. Not sure how they’d all fit in the salary cap though! Article only says Bruce plus a couple of unnamed Diamonds so for clarity I have added the Moloney mention.

Well that’s be surprising! BUT if Moloney has been told there is more WD in her future then….

Same article mentions nothing not already discussed in this thread except for Fran Williams and Fever.

Players are on the move next season. Can’t wait to see who goes where. If Moloney heard to SCL, will that mean Cassidy won’t get a contract?

Garbin been contacted by the 8th team and vixens, which means hopefully Neville isn’t after Cardwell.
Would A Garbin, kumwenda combo work with a zippy GA? I heard Austin is on the move… if Vixens don’t get Garbin I can see Van der Berg being picked up.

Where will Wallace go? Apparently Aiken George was offered spots at multiple clubs including Swifts.
Could vixens take on Wallace and get

Austin on the move again?? I would love to see her and Garbin as the starting shooters for Vixens.

Saw on Facebook that there’s a link between Glasgow and Firebirds which could be accurate if Tippett won’t be back in time.

Looks like there’s lots of shake ups coming.

I don’t think Aiken has offers from multiple clubs. The quotes from her manager and husband are that they have spoken to Swifts and have had interest from a qld club and couple interstate. But they have to wait to see if they get offers. All preliminary interest.

I haven’t heard of Austin moving. Where is she going?

Smith, Hadley, Proud and Fawns all share the same manager. They were quoted as saying they were all wanted by Swifts. They are seeking 3 year deals for Proud and Hadley and want to know what Fawns role will be. Swifts have supported Smith with her plantar fascia so she is keen to stay.

Glasgow’s manager is her Dad. He has said 5 clubs have shown interest but only mentioned FBs and SEN specifically (Fever of course would be one too).
