England wins 61-59!!!
This is only England’s 3rd win ever in Australia and their highest ever score against the Diamonds. There was no doubt who should be POTM – Funmi Faduju finished with 8 possession gains and was the difference but the whole side lifted dramatically
Absolutely agree in that Fadoju was the difference. 8 gains for her and 6 for the whole Diamonds team.
And only 4 penalties in the second half compared to 13 in the first!

Happy with Fadoju getting mvp but Tchine, Housby and Pearson played really well. I’d like to see Allison move back to WD and someone else take C.
I think Eng have found their starting 7 for their third game but it will be a different game with Garbin starting and remaining there in GS. Also, Klau and Aryang are their best defence end. I think the changes hurt the diamonds but always good to see the new combinations. Garrett played well but needs more time to gel with the other diamonds players. I agree that JLP should have been tried on Pearson. She won against all the WDs today
I think some bad strategic coaching by Australia to bench Koenan. Koenan was starting to get on top by the second quarter, and they took a lead into half time. Bringing on Garbin was an admission the English defence were on top, lifting the whole Roses team. Now, Australia has revealed some weakness at GS.

SM was somewhat out coached today but I think she would have taken a lot away from that loss.
Hadley and Price clearly missed, Parmenter not tight enough. It would be good to see what Ervin can do against a player like Tchine before the NZ series.
I really hope we get to see Ervin on Wednesday, I’m still not sold on Ellis. Price should definitely come back in (for Moloney most likely). I’d love to see Horjus but not sure who they’d take out as we haven’t see Dwyer yet either
Well Hello Lois Pearson, she was my MVP, 3 different defences and she was still dominant. IMO she stepped up today, I hope she can bring that level to the next game.
Fumni was great but I think she still has another level once she sorts out her footwork.

Ellis not ready yet. Really missed Aryang in the circle. Also sorely missed Jamie Lee on court.
However it was good experience for some of the extended squad. I don’t thing Australia will let this happen again.Fantasy Netball scores for game 2…

20 . Amy CarterI understand the potential seen in Ellis with her height and athleticism, but I don’t think she’s ever really shown she is quite ready for this level. Hopefully Ervin gets a shot in the third test.
I have no idea how Fadoju still doesn’t have an SSN contract. Both the Swifts and the Vixens need a ball winner like her. It feels like she can get so much better as well, it’s so odd.
I was surprised she didn’t end up at Firebirds next year. Feels only a matter of time.
Austin and Fadoju both top scoring NNP playing against each other!
Incredibly proud to make more history with this team, only our third EVER win against Aus on their home soil.
Very thankful for an amazing Sydney crowd and the personal support in my adopted home – I heard you @nswswifts fam 🫶🏼

Quashie got spoken to about her timing (?) in game 1.
In game 2 the ball was advanced twice for delaying play.Am I right in thinking there were no formal cautions or warnings so far??
I’m only asking because I think game 3 is going to be very physical. I think we may see a 2 mins suspension. 🤔
@al_ex I think Funmi is in her final year of her degree – expect to see her in SSN the year after next.
Those are some insane FN scores: has England ever had FOUR dominant scorers? Agree it’s fantastic to see Pearson replicating her NSL form on the international stage (Hannah Joseph, as the specialist WA, must be gutted!).
Would love to see Harvey given a run in game 3 – imo she’s got more of the dreaded P word than Quashie, and keeps her eyes up better, so is ready to pounce, rather than watching feet! -
