        Wow, Emily Mannix is out!

Well I expect Dehaney will play on Fowler & if Newton gets on it will be GD again ?

presumably Mannix is still sore from Tuesday when she came off.

Dehaney will start against Fowler not Newton. I would think their next choice would be Weston and Eddy in the circle with either Moloney (honey on) or Smith to WD.

Mannix went off late against Giants. Mannix initiated the change. Vixens are calling it ‘calf soreness’; maybe similar to Housby’s injury?

Yeah, sorry, got a wrong set of tips there. I thought Newton was starting at GK, which I couldn’t believe. I doubt she will play at all except if it’s to give the others a rest.

In saying this the work needs to be done ahead of Fowler and that will fall to weston, Eddy and Moloney primarily with a full court defence.

So Cosh gets the WA bib to start. Did wonder if they’d go that way with a direct sub or push Chares and Anstiss forward and use any of Aryang, Francis or Eagland at WD. Of course they can still change to this at some point.

I would like to see Newton get a run at some stage.

I like the idea of resting Mannix. I hope the Vixens give their midcourters a rest going forward as well, it’s really important they protect Watson.

Cosh has done a really good job in my opinion. She’s not as fast as Colyer but she plays pretty smart and has a good calm head. I think I’d prefer to see her and ATN playing the other way around but so far it’s definitely working for them.

Vixens just a bit messy in the midcourt and in transition. Not much in it so far really.

Newton really needs to consider moving clubs. Even if Dehaney isn’t resigned, the Vixens still have 3 elite circle defenders. They’d probably look for attacking reinforcements rather than defensive ones. She’d surely manage to pick up a contract at most of the other clubs, she’s probably the best un-contracted defender in the league.

                          1/4 time: Fever 16-14

                          Kumwenda 7/8 (88%)
                          Thwaites 7/7 (100%)

                          Fowler 15/17 (88%)
                          Teague-Neeld 1/1 (100%) 0/1 (0%)

Great game. So many good battles. Even Dehaney is having a red hot go against Fowler, without a great deal of success so far. Cosh going well replacing Colyer.

Philip throws the ball straight over Westin. Always good for 3 or 4 poor passes a match.

Vixens should look to play a Moloney – Watson – Honey midcourt. Eddy being beaten. Lack of movement in attack.

Must be said, Fever are on top here. They’ve got Vixens worried.

So they swap Eddy and Weston. Weston’s hands over gets a held ball straight away.

Weston was Doing well at GD but Eddy was poor. A swap to GD saves her from going to the bench.

                                Another terrible pass from Philip.

Tegan Philip’s passing this season has been so poor. It’s amazing how well the Vixens have done considering that.

Vixens front line needs a change. It’s all starting to fall apart.
