Kate Burley was interviewed after R1 and said “we’re lucky to have Gina for a few weeks”
So pressure she’ll still be with the Stars.Umpires were sending off Ioane (WD) for dangerous contact although it was Mason (GD) who was at fault. Ioane wasn’t smart enough in the moment to identify that the team would have been better off with her going off (WD) than Mason (GD) going off, and told the umpire that it wasn’t her and then the Umpires sent off Mason (GD).
Magic leading Pulse early in Q2.
1/2 time: Pulse 24 v Magic 22
I think O’Brien in C and Edgecombe at WD in front a pair of Maihi/Mikaere/Takarangi is best for the Magic.
I would say Ekenasio and Tui are off with the shooting, but Jackson is having a cracker game with her lean over the shot and rebounds. Excellent.
A convincing 56-44 win for Pulse in the end. Magic started well in both games but faded in the 2nd half.
Great first half from both teams but magic faded hugely in the second half. Felt for Mason, she seemed quite upset to not go on for the rest of the game following her suspension
4 games in, 5 suspensions.
Seeing the advantage rule in play, I’d like to see something like that in place before the 2 minute suspension.
So secret talks are reportly 3 teams licenses applications. Thank goodness.
I could not see for the life of me what was wrong with Mason’s challenge.
For a moving circle, there needs to be both a gun C and WA. The Magic are lacking these. However, it was a great defensive spectacle for the first half.
Magic are missing that specialist C. One who can run all day, but at speed too. Their two ends are exciting to watch, even the wings are doing great stuff. The C position seems inconsistent for me.
Yip Magic are really missing their spine core players across the court.
I’m already predicting a split in the ladder between the 6 teams.
I really feel that the competition should be reduced to 5 if not 4 teams to remain competitive
Assuming 2026 SSN plans go through, I wouldn’t be surprised if a team gets axed/merged early. Equal measure of performance and financial pressures.
