Dwan has absolutely blown me away with how much work she just did in that game

Considering she’s shared GA with Moore and had much less pressure to add to the scoreboard this season

Even last season at TBirds we saw her go to the bench most super shot periods to bring on the two talls

To play out a whole game and be the primary scorer whilst also doing a mountain of work off the second pass is incredible

For Swifts, Palavi showed she’s definitely got what it takes at this level, and O’Shannassy finished with 9 gains including 6 rebounds!

Both sides played like teams without much winning experience this year, but Firebirds took some chances and they paid off.

            1/4 time: Giants 21-18

This is a bit of a turn up so far. Giants really taking it up to Fever and they go to the first break 3 goals up. 4/4 from super shot territory helping them take the lead.

I know there’s been a lot of talk about Harten and whether she should retire, but she’s turning the clock back this game so far. Dehaney nowhere near her.

                1/2 time: Giants 41-33

This is getting serious now for Fever. Giants showing no signs of fading. They won the 2nd Q by 5 to take a lead of 8 to the half time break. Super shots: GIA 7/8 v FEV 1/6!

                Gains: FEV 2-1
                Penalties: FEV 23-21
                Turnovers: GIA 6-5

If Fever could actually shoot 2s this would be a different game. It’s so frustrating!

I’d like to see Anstiss in C to combat Price defensively- Aryang or Cransberg in WD.

There’s a huge crowd here, feels like at least 8000.

Giants losing some composure here and Fever coming right back.

Tilly McDonnell is exceptionally close to getting some balls but she’s about 3cm too short.

Fever is on a 9-0 run and has taken the lead. Giants haven’t scored for over 6 minutes.

Wheels have totally fallen off for the Giants. The difference has been Williams coming on into GD against Dwyer, who was totally beating Aryang in the first half.

That’s what playing a player in their actual position can do. Well done Fran Williams!

                            3/4 time: Fever 53-50

Wow. Giants led 48-42 halfway through the 3rd Q, when suddenly an incredible change came over the game. Fever scored 11 unanswered goals and took the lead. Who wins from here?

                            Gains: FEV 7-5
                            Penalties: FEV 43-32
                            Turnovers: GIA 16-10

It’s going right down to the wire! Fever leads 66-63 with just over 2 minutes left as Dan Ryan calls a time out.

Fever were lucky not to be beaten by the bottom of the ladder for the second week running…eek. Thought Williams should have been POTM.

                                  Full time: Fever 68-65

Another thriller. A great effort from Giants who scored 11 super shots. They were coming to get Fever in that last Power 5 but Fever managed to hold on for a crucial victory. POTM is Alice Teague-Neeld who finished with 36 assists!
