Lightning playing probably one of their best games this season, scoreline is blowing out.
1/2 time: LIG 46-32
Lightning looking totally dominant right now. Another 23 goal quarter from them, but this time, Firebirds could only respond with 13 of their own.
Gains: LIG 12-7
Penalties: FIR 30-21
Turnovers: FIR 8-7Mixed fortunes for the two First Nations players so far. Leesa Mi Mi is probably the best player on court to half time, while Donnell Wallam is struggling somewhat. Firebirds are shooting at just 65%!
Touching scenes during tonight's cultural performance before Donnell Wallam and Leesa Mimi exchanged team gifts.

3/4 time: LIG 63-49
That quarter was drawn 17-17 as Emily Moore landed 4 super shots. But Lightning has this game well in hand. A commanding performance so far.
Gains: LIG 13-11
Penalties: FIR 53-31
Turnovers: FIR 13-12Moore and Dawn both playing really well.
Given Fretwell, Watson and Bueta are v good friends… what if fretwell retired next year and Tippet replaced her for a swan song?
Full time: LIG 83-67
A convincing win for Lightning to put them back in the top 4 for another week. And that is the highest score in matches between these two teams as both had scored 82 previously. No surprises that Leesa Mi Mi was POTM.
I would’ve loved to see the 2 shorts in the circle again this week. Wallam didn’t have a good game and I’ve noticed the attack end tends to rush and not cherish possession when she’s on.
Last week they did the hard grind to get that ball to circles edge.Looks like 4th spot is still up for grabs and will come down to the last round.
Macy Gardner has had ONE turnover in the last three weeks! She’s so much less erratic this year, those are some brilliant numbers for the number of feeds she has.
And yet sadly, as you scroll on social media she’s copping more hate than any other player- from the alleged fans on their own site no less 🙁
1/4 time: FEV 20-15
Heading into the power five, Vixens held a 12-11 lead, but Fever then went on a 9-3 run to end the first quarter. Dehaney has come up with 3 important gains so far.
Gains: FEV 4-2
Penalties: 20-20
Turnovers: VIX 3-2I do not understand this short pass rule, it’s not consistent at all. If you can’t call it consistently at both ends at all times, then don’t call it at all.
Really Montyandpoppy? I had no idea! She’s consistently been one of their best players.
I don’t think that was a short pass- Vixens have had a couple of weird calls against them, and that’s coming from a Fever fan!
