      Giants started confidently, but Vixens gradually began to take charge. Austin went 3/3 from 2 point land before Letherbarrow answered with a couple of her to reduce the margin

          Stats wise, there’s not a lot to separate the teams, but Vixens are finding it far easier to get the ball to their shooters, and Garbin and Austin are working so well together.

            A bit scrappy currently with the possession changes at this stage running 18-13 against Giants. They’re no doubt missing their co-captains today but you can’t fault their effort.

              3/4 time: Vixens 53-39

              Vixens clicked into gear in the third quarter, and the Giants just couldn’t go with them. Gina Crampton came on for Giants at 1/2 time, so two kiwis teamed up in the midcourt.

              Gains: VIX 13-10
              Penalties: VIX 51-36
              Turnovers: GIA 18-15

                        Full time: Vixens 74-60

                        An incredible free-flowing last Q which ended up 21-21! But Vixens were safely in control of the match for most of the way. Garbin was tremendous, while Moloney steered the ship. Rudi Ellis had another strong game at the back.

                              What a cracking first Q that was. A good quality game, and very even as the score would suggest. Fever shooting 18/20 and Lightning 17/20 with a super shot thrown in there to even things up.

                                  Fretwell has been in brilliant form since she retired from Diamonds- so glad she’s able to stick around for a few more years.
