Magpies edged out by another goal in that quarter & now lead by 7. Super shots making a difference. Sinclair with 3/4, Firebirds shooters with 0/3. Ward having a ripper of a game.

Firebirds are having a crack, but Magpies sticking solid here and answering every challenge. Magpies 42-33

One thing that must be said. Rudi Ellis has actually had a good game at the back, so the absence of Tara Hinchliffe can’t really be used as a reason or excuse for this score line.

Magpies have just been clearly the better team since the first Q power play.

The thing about this result is it should make Lightning feel safer. It’s hard to see Magpies making the finals at their expense. And that’s not because Magpies face Fever next. It’s because the Pies have such a poor percentage. If only they’d been playing this well earlier.
