Calf tear is much better news than an Achilles injury. But they definitely shouldn’t rush her back because that can be a niggly injury if she returns without fully recovering.
1/4 time: Magpies 19-13
Firebirds 13/18 (72%)
Magpies 17/19 (90%)Magpies looking good. They outscored Firebirds 10-3 in the power play to take a very handy 6 goal lead to the break. Jovic, Sinclair & Nelson all having great games so far.
Sinclair currently off with a finger injury. McCollin on.
Magpies 25-19 as we go to a timeout.
1/2 time: Magpies 34-27
Firebirds 27/36 (75%)
Magpies 31/38 (82%)Magpies edged out by another goal in that quarter & now lead by 7. Super shots making a difference. Sinclair with 3/4, Firebirds shooters with 0/3. Ward having a ripper of a game.

Firebirds are having a crack, but Magpies sticking solid here and answering every challenge. Magpies 42-33
1/2 time: Magpies 51-41
Firebirds 39/49 (80%)
Magpies 48/56 (86%)Magpies have answered every challenge so far. They’ve been the steadier, more composed, more professional team.
One thing that must be said. Rudi Ellis has actually had a good game at the back, so the absence of Tara Hinchliffe can’t really be used as a reason or excuse for this score line.
Magpies have just been clearly the better team since the first Q power play.
Romelda with a couple of super shots and the gap is back to 4 with under 2 mins left!
You’d have to think the vixens go after Tippah Dwan, its such a shame to see her sit the bench most of the season and she’s exactly what the vixens need
Anyone know what happened to Gabi?
Magpies win 66-59
The thing about this result is it should make Lightning feel safer. It’s hard to see Magpies making the finals at their expense. And that’s not because Magpies face Fever next. It’s because the Pies have such a poor percentage. If only they’d been playing this well earlier.
