Amber CoraizinSuspensions
Shannen Bartlett (or possibly Amber Coraizin) – intentional penaltywith one game left to play in the round robin, Australia are guaranteed a spot in the final, their opponents will be determined by the winner of NZ vs SA. the other finals spots totally depend on results and could come down to point differential
Aus 4/4 8
NZ 3/4 6
SA 3/4 6
England 1/4 2
Uganda 1/4 2
Jamaica 0/4 0The NZ Men’s GK seems to have a license to do as he wishes. Jump around in the player’s face, inside 3ft, clap his hands while shooting (this was yesterday against Australia), after jumping the shot stand tall in the way of the shooters vision. It’s as if the play is so erratic that the umpire has no idea what to call.

Thomson Matuku (I think)Suspensions
Itumeleng Mohanoe – deliberate penalty during powerplay
Eugene Sinxezi – deliberate obstruction
Sicelo Gamede – deliberate contactOh dear, what a ridiculous rule. NZ likely would have come back anyway but was a really unpleasant end to that game.
POM for the Mens game was William Lethoko – won’t let me edit the post above
The umpiring the whole weekend has been a bit strange. It’s like nobody has ever heard of replay before.
Aus (women) seem to be down to 9 players for now- Kim Jenner had a nasty head clash during the Jamaica game, got an accidental slash across the face and looked to have a very sore noggin.
Also, the Aussie hairstyles are confusing me lol- I keep mixing up Batcheldor, TOS, and Letherbarrow!

Teigan O’ShannassyNZ with a last second 6 to get over South Africa. SA should be proud, the contact in the last second was a little disappointing.

?Is it just me or are Fast5 rules just dumb. 6pt shots, send offs every game for practically nothing, the winning by default, urgghhh just give me regular netball any day. I find that exciting enough, I don’t think it needs all these attempts to jazz it up. I’ll watch the final just because Australia are in it but then I’m done with Fast5. Am I just an old stick in the mud?
Devastated for SA, they were on top for most of that match. But, just goes to show that you have to be disciplined right until the end.
Aus are going to have to be careful – NZ would have learnt a lot from yesterday and will come out firing.
the rules are the rules, everyone plays to the the same ones. and it’s totally personal choice like any sport (or anything really) if you don’t like it, don’t watch it, the players love it, the fans love it. a great way for some of the players to let loose and have some (competitive) fun after a long season
