The tbirds need to pick up Maseko!! She’s going to be a superstar in the future.
If I were T’Birds, I’d go for the following lineup.
Nelson
Austin
Maseko
Horjus
Miller
Williams
Petty
Wilson
Garrett
SterlingAt least two strong options in all positions with slightly different styles of play. Still a very youthful team that would grow. They would challenge for finals again with that line-up in my opinion.
Four imports is a lot but I think they’re all genuinely value adding and better than the Australian talent available. They’re also all quite exciting to watch.
Surely TBirds have their 10 sorted and we just don’t know it. Lauren Moore is moving to Melbourne and Lewis has headed back there from Perth. Looks like Parmenter’s fiancée is in the process of moving them (given Amy is obviously busy!). Makes me think that hopefully contracts aren’t far away but in case of TBirds you’d want to know what you’re doing or they’ll be quite a way behind other teams!!
NEWS: The @MelbMavericks have named Nicole Richardson as assistant coach.

If I were TBIRDS
GS/GA Romelda Aiken-George
GS/GA Georgie Horjus
C/WA Maisie Nankivell
WA/C Hannah Petty
WD/GD Latanya Wilson
GD/GK Shamera Sterling
S Lucy Austin (GS/GA)
S Matilda Garrett (WD/GD)I think Lucy needs another SSN to transition to the starting 7
Correction – Nankivell is an out for AT
You forgot Tayla Williams.
I think they’ll keep Georgie at WA, because she’s a their liZ Watson.I noticed that Annie miller is following a lot of Tbirds training partners so maybe she’ll sit behind Georgie.
The big question is the GA. Hoping for Maseko someone who isn’t afraid to shoot. Now wouldn’t it be perfect if Browne went back to Lightning…
Edit: I forgot Watson is moving over there.

After watching them this weekend TBirds really should just back in Austin and Horjus. They are the future but also the now. Yes they will make mistakes but the learning and growth from that will be immense. Austin really could push into Diamonds in 12-24 months time, beautiful shot, all the physical attributes and appears to be very coachable. Then of course pick up Annie Miller.
I’m a fan of them getting Romelda for a year so Austin doesn’t have to carry the load. She’s great and I’ve always been a fan of hers since she was at Matrics, but another year as an understudy would do her well. Not sure what they’re going to do about a GA though!
Very sad to see Nelson playing VNL…
