Open mind and all that but I hope to hell that she has an assistant that knows what a moving goal circle is. Has Stacey ever coached a (successful) moving circle?
Philip/Bueta in 2017 and Garbin/Austin in 2018? I recall they worked pretty well as moving circles.
But Stacey didn’t coach those moving circles?
Fever – where GA’s go to die! Marinkovic made a ridiculous decision regarding Medhurst and put in Alice Teague-Neeld who was agony to watch with her nerves. Gave her little support and showed little regard for her welfare. Her woke speeches are not backed up by actions and don’t promote a healthy team atmosphere.
She was Fast 5 coach, those were her combinations
Third place in both those tournaments?
Yeah. Fast 5 is a stupid game 🙂

Going to be interesting. Marinkvich needs a very experienced team around both from a coaching perspective and international experience. We saw what happened to an inexperienced but highly touted coach at the Broncos when the wins didn’t come. Lots and lots of scrutiny. Now I’m not saying that the Diamonds coach is as high profile a job as the Broncos coach but it is the top coaching job in Australian netball for a coach that hasn’t won an SSN (or equivalent) title.

As a Kiwi, I would have feared more McKinnis or Jenkee as potential coaches. I don’t think she’ll go the Southby way as the Diamonds are less-reliant on the coach to get them to international standard than the Ferns are.
That said, I’m surprised they made three mistakes from the Southby experience 1) not having someone on the selection panel with on the ground netball knowledge, 2) hiring someone who has yet to win any significant titles and 3) contracting them until the end of the World Cup.
Liz Ellis – Some awkward questions, but Marinkovich must be supported in Diamonds job
