Anstiss is the type of WD that doesn’t take intercept after intercept but she does the ground work to slow down the ball for her defenders. She also gets sneaky penalties without pushing the limits and quite often they help with slowing things down so the defenders can reset if they are out of position. The best WDs play like this. It’s this area that concerned Lisa A with players like Simpson, Braz etc – they were chasing the intercepts and not doing the ground work to keep the pressure on.
in reply to: WEST COAST FEVER 2021 #1316057There is definitely a place for Aryang in the 10. Fever could very well go for a couple of swing players.
For example:
Fowler
ATN
WallamCosh (can also cover GA)
Charles
Anstiss
Francis (can also play circle D)Bruce
Lewis
Aryang. It’s unlikely they’d promote Wallam at this stage but they won’t have Fowler forever so it would be great if they could expose her now. Then they have great cover for Fowler if anything happens, but they can still change up the circle with Cosh who is more than serviceable in goals.
in reply to: 2020 Cadbury Series #1315748I’d prefer a little bit of double standards and coach bias to the unprofessional person(s) whom leak what goes on at training camps for someone to share on an online forum!
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1315721Garrett’s preferred position is GK and she plays a lot better there. Mentor has forced her out to GD.
in reply to: WEST COAST FEVER 2021 #1315669I think they’d be better to keep Cosh than go for Pitman. She’s from WA and slotted in very well for her experience level and she can shoot too!
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314776Tully – she also mentioned on the show she is also very keen to coach AFL in the future, and I agree Magpies seem the obvious choice.
I know she had an excellent relationship with JWT at Tbirds, but not sure how that relationship is now?
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314763Lisa Alexander was asked on Offsiders yesterday if she would be interested in either of the vacant coaching positions. She said that she would be keen to coach next year, and that you never know.
Perhaps we will see her at the Firebirds and this has swayed Rav’s decision.
