I’ll like to see O’Brian on court to give her the experience – the quicker they develop her into a starting player the better.
Famous last words from me in picking my Season Comp team in Fantasy Netball this week…
“Surely, Dwyer can’t have as bad a game as last week!”
I think Dwyer’s stats prove that the starting attacking line up should be Letherbarrow and Dwyer. Then Harten could come on and change things up when it’s not working. What a player to have as an impact!
Tbirds: 34/41 (SS: 3/4)
Giants: 18/25 (SS: 5/7)Gains: THU 8-7
Penalties: GIA 29-18
Turnovers: GIA 14-8Tayla Williams: 12 assists, 3 gains.
Well, that was a crazy goal from Romelda, stumbling backwards out of court, looped up a shot and it never looked like missing. Halfway through the 3rd Q and Tbirds lead 48-28.
3/4 time: Thunderbirds 54-36
Tbirds just rolling through this game smoothly, they’ve won all three quarters so far, and no matter what Giants try, they can’t make any impression. The turnover count is 20-12 against them.
Thunderbirds lead 65-45 with 5 minutes left. It’s been a spirited effort in defence from the Giants in this last Q.
Full time: Thunderbirds 69-49
A dominant win for Tbirds, who gave all 10 a good run. Tayla Williams was POTM with 20 assists & 4 gains.
Giants improved as the match wore on, but again, had a horror patch early where they just couldn’t score.
I am not sure what the Giants can do from here – problems all over the court. They don’t have the right players and there is not much they can do about it. Such a pity they didn’t nominate an 11th player.
Great to see Lucy Austin and the T birds taking more super shots!
From memory a fair few of the Giants are also signed for 2025. Potentially problematic for them moving forward.
It was great to see Austin get out on court with less pressure, and play well in the time she was given. Still want her to work on her holds though, they won’t fly against Klau.
Horjus and Williams both have to be in line for the Diamonds, surely?
Especially Horjus! Her ability to dominate in both WA and GA is impressive.
Zara Walters has sustained a lower back injury which the club’s medical team is monitoring, and will not be available for the Vixens’ Round 4 match against the Firebirds today.
Squad member Ruby Barkmeyer has been elevated to the game day team in Zara’s place.#VIXvFIR pic.twitter.com/yNoIHhxx9n

Oh no ”monitoring” doesn’t sound good. Hopefully a speedy recovery for Zara.
