Garbin would have been my POTM. Weston is building back very well post injury, just not quite a consistent 60 minutes but that’ll be back in a few weeks. Had Walters been there I suspect Mundy may have been taken off.
Was anything mentioned about how long Walters will be out?
Time out Swifts. After an error free start, 2 turnovers against the home team, sees Fever out to a 12-9 lead after 10 minutes.
Fever shredding Swifts late in 1st.
1/4 time: Fever 23-15
After an even start, the visitors went on a 16-7 run to close out the first Q. As she has done this season, Kelsey Browne has started in terrific form with 8 assists in the first Q.
Great all court defence by Swifts in this Q forcing Fever into error and Dan Ryan calls a time out. Fever’s lead has been cut to 3.
Solid rally from behind by Swifts down by 1 now. Much less erratic passes by Swifts.
1/2 time: Fever 35-33
Swifts: 27/31 (SS: 6/9)
Fever: 30/32 (SS: 5/5)Gains: FEV 6-5
Penalties: SWI 24-19
Turnovers: FEV 8-7That Q was 18-12 in Swifts’ favour. At one stage, Swifts went from 3 behind to 3 in front thanks to 3 straight super shots from Sophie Fawns. Then Shanice Beckford replied with 2 of her own to reclaim the lead for Fever. Fawns has 6 super shots from 7 attempts, while Beckford has landed 4 from 4.
Aryang is having a great season so far.
3/4 time: Fever 57-48
Much like the 1st Q, the 3rd Q was pretty even until a late surge from Fever, after some missed super shots by Swifts. So far in this game, Swifts are 8/14 from 2 point range while Fever hasn’t missed any. They’re 7/7!
Kelsey Browne still going strong… 20 assists, no turnovers. She’s one of the signings of the season. And she’s having a ball out there.
Through four rounds Fever look rock solid.
