Maybe it’s just me but Nankivell was so good playing C last year, I don’t know why she isn’t getting more time there.
If gooden is on from the start then I hope to see her do a heap of long shots and nail them. I love that she’s shooting long but hate that it makes her a final five minute player. I want to see her do it the whole way through and really keep the defenders thinking… I love that style of netball and she’s so good at it!
It’s probably too early to judge but I feel like there are a few teams that just aren’t playing their best lines. And those teams are sitting pretty much at the bottom of both ANZP and SSN.
The idea that McCollin, McDonald, Wilson and Horjus are all starting on the bench is interesting.
Where is the crowd, looks so small.
Collingwood never get big crowds, I don’t think they have many members.
A decent enough start. Browne and Nelson were dominating at the beginning before Jovic started to take over. Brazill hasn’t been great so far this season. The Thunderbirds have been solid.
1/4 time: 16-16
It was a little bit hard to get into this match at first. Small crowd and two teams without a win. But it’s livened up since the start and it’s certainly close. Not too many errors. Magpies have been heavily penalised so far.
This is the second week in a row that Collingwood have played at exactly the same time as their AFL team is playing. That wouldn’t help the crowds!
Ward is sooo good! She’s so sneaky and great closing speed. Great combo with Mentor
Potgieter is so hesitant to shoot and has caused a lot of turnovers. I’d be tempted to try Gooden/Horjus. Ward is excellent!!
Nelson has improved quite a lot, she’s really been on top of Sterling for the most part today. She was absolutely dominated by Sterling last season.
1/2 time: Magpies 32-30
Well, if there’s one thing these teams do have, it’s super shot exponents. But that hurt the Tbirds at the end there. Time running out & instead of Potgieter simply scoring the goal, she was too intent on looking for Horjus.
