Not the polished Diamonds we’re used to seeing! The attack looks so congested, especially in the circle- partly due to Williams and Fadoju, but it looks like there’s nowhere to place the ball for Koenen and arms in the path of every ball. Klau guilty of overrunning a few too many balls, and Aryang hasn’t really been able to shut down Housby. Parmy has a lot of penalties but is finally reaping some rewards, her repeated efforts have really been standing out. Wouldn’t mind seeing a complete switch up with Sophie Squared.
England have been making way better choices in attack and have finally remembered where the circle edge is. Tchine is playing so well, can’t believe she fell out of Roses favour last year. Fadoju is outstanding but has 13 penalties in one half! Williams is expertly shutting down space.
Diamonds can’t get a rebound to save their lives.
Totally agree Flb- Australia aren’t actually playing that well, it’s mostly poor pass placement from England and easily getting the ball to Garbin. If this was Jamaica we’d be losing.
Not sure Williams deserved to get taken off, I thought she was going okay. Joseph (with only 8 feeds in a half at WA) and Cobden coming off might be good changes for England- Cardwell off was a good move.
Aryang is playing so well! Garbin’s passing has been dodgy but her hold and shot have been brilliant, Austin has been great, Price has been applying very good pressure without being stupidly physical.
Maybe some half time changes that Stacey loves Klau/Garrett/Price/Moloney/Watson/Austin/Koenen would be great. Then Watson and Klau can have a break at 3QTR time, swing Austin into WA and Dwyer into GA, then Ellis to debut in GK. Because I’m such a pro coach lol.
Some bad passes from the Diamonds (especially Garbin) making Quashie look good- of course she’s playing well too!
Klau and Aryang making it difficult to feed the English circle.
Just had a browse on Kayo and at the moment the England series is listed as free but the CC is locked 🙁
Hopefully that changes soon, only one CC game up so far anyway.in reply to: 2025 NETBALL SUPER LEAGUE #1379028Why do Mavericks have 5 shooters? I know Liverseidge and Hall play WA but they’re quite short on C/WD cover.
in reply to: 2025 NETBALL SUPER LEAGUE #1379025More Aussies off to the UK! Emily Andrew (who we knew about) off to Mavs, along with Chelsea Blackman. So stoked to see her get a contract, she’s been around for ageeees.
in reply to: 2025 NETBALL SUPER LEAGUE #1379018Oh you’re so right D-fencr, looking more pink and teal.
in reply to: 2025 NETBALL SUPER LEAGUE #1379015Why are Mavericks and Nottingham the exact same colours… hate that.
Pulse have a solid squad yet again, even without Neil. Looked up Gracie Smith- she’s only 15!
Not sold on Nottingham yet but I don’t know a lot about some of their players, so maybe they’re better than I expect. Pechova and Dixon will be key.
in reply to: 2025 NETBALL SUPER LEAGUE #1378780Apparently all the squad are being announced at once on September 4th. Where’s the fun in that?!
in reply to: 2025 SUNCORP SUPER NETBALL #1378777Horjus has extended her contract for 2026 as well.
in reply to: 2025 ANZ PREMIERSHIP #1378678Mystics team dropping tomorrow.
in reply to: 2025 SUNCORP SUPER NETBALL #1378641I can understand Fever’s strategy- they won the premiership with 4 shooters (2 playing WA/GA), 2 mids, and 4 defenders (2 playing WD/GD). Beckford and ATN would be the WA/GA slides in this case. Only concern is that Sunday is the only real WD out of the defenders, but I suppose Ruth would like to become a 3-position threat. There’s still plenty of cover with Anstiss and Cransberg to cover WD.
Tbirds is a much more confusing case- I can only assume they’re planning to really activate the 11th player. Horjus needs to be playing GA for her Diamonds chances (not that it should be Tbirds priority)- that means at some point there will be 3 shooters on the bench. I don’t want to see her become a one-position player.
Is Romelda going to spend time in GK behind Shamera and Latty? Highly doubt it but I suppose it’s an option?
I think Swifts will be fine- Lambden and Smith are serviceable in C, and Whyte or LGB can come in as the 11th if they need more attack firepower.
in reply to: 2025 ANZ PREMIERSHIP #1378638Monica Falkner signs for Stars. Thought she was looking really good considering she didn’t have a preseason, would love to see her make Ferns next year.
Random tangent but why are they posting now? Isn’t it like 10pm over there?
in reply to: 2024/25 Silver Ferns Squad #1378580One insta comment says Takarangi got 19.1 for the yoyo. Didn’t include a source though so who knows if that’s true.
I can’t see GH failing fitness, but definitely agree that something’s gone very wrong there.
