              Well, so far, so good in terms of Magpies’ attitude. They’ve had the better of the first quarter. Lightning with 5 turnovers and no gains. Wood has 2 super shots to bring them closer while Garbin is unfortunately 0/3

                Steph Wood has 4 from super shot territory. At the moment, that is keeping Lightning in this. Otherwise, it’s all Magpies. 37-31

                  After all that’s happened to them, this is an incredible performance from Magpies. It’s one of their best games of the year so far. Just 5 turnovers in the first half. They had 12 by this stage last week.

                      Lightning has taken the lead 48-44. And this Q is 16-5!

                      Ash Ervin has made a real difference since coming on for Lightning. She has 3 gains and Pretorius 2 in this 3rd Q. This is a real test for Magpies now.

                        3/4 time: Lightning 52-49

                        Shimona Nelson with a super shot to get Magpies back within 3. They’re still well in this, but that third Q was 20-10, so the momentum was all with the Lightning until the last few minutes.

                          The Magpies defence has lifted! There was no way through for the Lightning on their last play. Lightning leads 60-59 with Magpies next centre pass. If anything, Magpies looking the stronger at the moment.

                              There was definitely extra meaning in the huddle after the game today. Steph Wood and Ash Brazill having a good talk. Nicole Richardson was in tears after the game. Steph Wood POTM and she gives Richo a big hug.

                                You couldn’t question Magpies’ commitment today. They put absolutely everything into that game. They were just let down by that 3rd Q, but they were right in it till the end. Super shots ultimately told the difference unfortunately.
