Err Why is Eddy off? Eddy had done some nice work confusing the CP and got a contact and Swifts pass over the sideline.

Swifts totally dominating this game now. What a performance. They lead 59-43 at 3/4 time. The Swifts defence is all over Vixens, picking up 7 gains in the 3rd Q.

Well at least Vixens have learnt some lessons today. Mundy – Watson needs to be the WA – C combination. Weston and Moloney need to be a lot better at bringing the ball through court. If they play Swifts again then Lewis should be on court, wasn’t used well today.

I feel like Austin had some rough calls today.

Not sure what this game does for Proud’s diamonds chances. Watson had the better of her in the first half. But Proud outplayed Moloney.

Housby and Hadley were great and defensively they were very tight.

            Full time: Swifts 70-62

A comeback of sorts from Vixens, winning the last Q 19-11, but Swifts had it well in hand. Helen Housby is POTM after another brilliant performance. 7 in a row for Swifts, 2nd place and the Sargeant-McKinnis Trophy.

I wasn’t sure that Swifts were genuine contenders for the premiership, but I think today proved that they are. They played great for 50 minutes, but became a little complacent towards the end. Fraser was outstanding in disrupting the Vixens and provided so much drive out to defence. They look like they are really building into the season at the right time.

Swifts with a team effort, and Housby was a worthy POTM, but the win was built around their back three who combined for 11 gains and an incredible 24 deflections!!!

I agree NB12 not sure how Moloney wasn’t benched after the 3rd quarter. Eddy whilst not winning clean ball was causing turnovers and she got benched. Mundy should be starting 7 but Eddy should not lose her place for it. Actually Weston was well beaten so Eddy should have been tried in GD as well.

Yes Tully, Eddy is the most consistent player in the midcourt but has to constantly make way.

Borger deserved more than 5 minutes to work her way into the game as well.

Onto FBs and Giants, Leesa MiMi has had an impressive start. Seems a very steady player.

Giants take a 17-14 lead to the first break. Jo Harten with 13/14 in her first quarter back. April Brandley already with 2 gains and 3 deflections in her 150th match!

Exciting game here. It’s 28-28 at half time. Surprisingly, Giants with just one successful super shot to this point. Jamie-Lee Price having a cracker of a game while Remi Kamo and April Brandley both have 4 gains.

I’m glad Stower and Moore are getting some time together on court, see what they can do

Love to see Stower finding her range and shooting with confidence from distance. Only 10 feeds for Hay so far, surprising considering her recent dominance, Rav doing her job.

Letherbarrow on for Harten in the last Q. Jo did not seem herself for the last couple quarters, clearly isn’t as mobile as she usually is so the middies weren’t finding her.

And Letherbarrow gives away two offensive penalties to start the quarter.

Wallam played well again today, but I don’t know how much to take out of that. Would hate to be a Diamonds selector.
