I like the line-ups but if Bassett and Tippett are not working than lA NEEDS to pull the plug and put Thwaites or Phillip on. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Bruce at GD and JLP at C for a quarter just to know that if things aren’t working we have other combinations to turn to.
in reply to: Final 2020 SSN Team Signings #1283860I can understand Lisa being upset I mean she would have loved to see Fraser, Halpin, or even another young player interstate get that position and I think what has been making this a tougher pill to swallow is the limited ten player teams, and expansion back to 12 would help immensely.
in reply to: Final 2020 SSN Team Signings #1283836Sasha Glasgow*
Layla Guscoth
Cody Lange
Maisie Nankivell
Hannah Petty
Chelsea Pitman
Lenize Potgieter
Kate Shimmin
Shamera Sterling
Shadine van der MerweThis line-up does not make me feel very confident at all, no strong GA for the start of the season and the loss of Folau is extremely worrying. I guess she may be retiring…? Where else could she possibly going?
Cobden hasn’t signed anywhere so I wonder if she is even signed for any team anywhere for 2020.
Shame that Altmann did not get a contract anywhere, she said when she was signed that if she did not make it professionally speaking by the age of 26 she would give up so I do wonder what her future holds.

in reply to: Final 2020 SSN Team Signings #1283810So now it is just Magpies, Thunderbirds and Vixens left?
in reply to: Swifts' last signing… #1283805I think/hope NZ giver her an exemption. Cullen was never part of the team that was meant to play for NZA in the recently passed tournament but was rather part of the wider squad as far as I know.
in reply to: Swifts' last signing… #1283802Yeah very interested to see what happens to Fraser and Halpin, both so strong and have bright futures, sad they both miss out on contracts but let’s see what Cullen can bring to the line-up, hopefully she is getting back into top form. It is actually kind of weird considering she didn’t play after her debut and Halpin and Fraser stuck around… if you kept Halpin for finals why pick Cullen over her now? Maybe they wanted more experience in the defence?

in reply to: Final 2020 SSN Team Signings #1283790I don’t know why other teams haven’t made final announcements, the media department at some clubs is just not up to scratch, you want to build up the excitement for fans. E.g. Thunderbirds still haven’t announced the return of Guscoth and Pitman even though we all know via a Super Netball article, that they are returning.
in reply to: Lara Dunkley A Firebird Now #1283772I worry about what she will do once Cassidy comes back so hopefully she gets solid on-court time so that she gets picked up elsewhere the following season. I wonder if Vixens tried to retain her but I guess there was no guarantee she would get much court-time behind Eddy, Moloney, and Watson
Diamonds with just too many turnovers at the wrong time but to be fair, there are some new combinations at work there but they need to work on those crucial time intercepts because NZ defensive effort was really there for so much of that game
Full Time: NZ Win 53-52
Diamonds expected a whistle and may have joist lost the game for themselves.
Missed the 3rd quarter but how did Diamonds lose their lead?
Watson on at C, seems like the only change. I think it may actually work well with Scherian at WA, it will be interesting to see how this goes.
Half Time: NZ Leads 26-25
