in reply to: 2020 ANZP ROUND 3 – PULSE v MYSTICS #1304876
Mystics giving Pulse a run for their money. Nweke dominating Jury. Ekenasio standing up for the Pulse.
in reply to: 2020 ANZP ROUND 3 – STARS v STEEL #1304835I reckon 1 and 2 are decided already. Mystics and Pulse clearly the strongest 2 teams. Its disappointing that there is no semi finals because I think these two will have a grand final spot cemented weeks out from the Grand Final.
GS: Sam Wallace (Trinidad)
GA: Helen Housby (England)
WA: Rachel Nanygona (Uganda)
C: Laura Langman (NZ)
WD: Claris Kwaramba (Zimbabwe)
GD: Karla Pretorius (SA)
GK: Shamera Sterling (Jamaica)in reply to: 2 POINT SHOT! #1304621Take a look at C’Bass’ instagram story. Pretty funny and spot on.
in reply to: 2 POINT SHOT! #1304613If it was any other year the players might have gone on strike. But given they’re absolutely hanging out for a game of netball I can’t see that happening…but we can dream
in reply to: 2 POINT SHOT! #1304610What I hate the most is that it entirely devalues good feeders who can thread the needle and good defenders who can keep their shooters away from the post.
in reply to: 2 POINT SHOT! #1304609Firebirds will be worst off I reckon. Aiken and Tippett never shoot long.
in reply to: 2 POINT SHOT! #1304605What a disaster this will be.
in reply to: 2020 ANZP ROUND 2 – STARS v PULSE #1303681None of those other WA’s would have put in the same performance that Crampton produced in the Gold Medal match at World Cup. Played her role perfectly. TS, Crampton had the better of Elley easily. It was the Tactix circle defence that were on top. Bit hard to shine as a feeder when both your shooters are always covered.
in reply to: 2020 ANZP ROUND 2 – STARS v PULSE #1303488How strong is the WA (and whole midcourt) depth in NZ at the moment! Crampton, Toeava, Souness, Reuleu-Buchanan and now Maddy Gordon all stepping up – and Erikana Pederson made a solid return yesterday too. Crampton for me is still the standout, she’s the most consistent and has such a low error rate which fits the Ferns style. She puts some outstanding passes into O’Connell when there really isn’t much available a lot of the time.
Toeava is incredibly clever but I think her error rate is still too high. She committed 14 turnovers over the first 2 rounds, compared to Crampton’s 2 which is 10-12 goals right there.
in reply to: 2020 ANZP ROUND 2 – MAGIC v MYSTICS #1294568Nweke does a hell of a lot more than just stand under the post thats for sure

in reply to: Revised ANZ Premiership draw… #1288858I thought NZ announced today that spectators were able to attend all sporting matches? Obviously the Mystics & Stars will have an advantage, but I’m pretty sure the players would rather play in front of a crowd (even if they’re cheering against them).
What a shame. Mes was looking good for a big year, as are the Mystics! All 3 shooters under 18 years of age is a rare sight in any professional netball team. I’d have thought they would have tried to chase Ellen Halpenny, I know she played for them during pre-season and her experience would be a great fit – but I’d imagine she would be pretty busy in her new job as a police officer! Mystics should still be a strong team this year.
in reply to: Gordy’s Gasbags #1288426Plus Beth Cobden’s a T’Birds training partner and she’s gone home too.
