I rate Stanton lower than Glasgow, Allen, Dwan and I think we had had plenty of opportunities without consistently delivering.
Tully I also agree with you re ALJ. She has had little court time for a reason. She doesn’t look highly conditioned either.
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314143in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314130I’m pretty sure Eagland is on a 3 year deal. They may have a “Medhurst get out clause” though so it wouldn’t surprise me to see her go. Aryang and Lewis for Eagland and Francis.
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314124Plus they have Eagland who should be dropped. It’s baffling why they gave her a 3 year contract.
Great article Jane.
in reply to: 2020 SSN MAJOR SEMI FINAL – VIXENS v LIGHTNING #1313886I would definitely take McDonald over Honey next year. She slotted in so well for that few minutes when Moloney was off and I wouldn’t be be surprised to see her in WA for the second half.
I get the full article Minkie.
in reply to: The Forgotten Firebird #1313158I hope that more Indigenous players come out and tell their stories if they are comfortable doing so. It should be a giant wake-up call to netball administrators at every level. Honestly, the stories make me want to cry. We MUST do better.
I don’t think it would have been seen at tokenism to start Mi Mi in this match. It isn’t as if she hasn’t started before or had significant game time this year. She also got player of the match one round so has been a valuable part of the team this year. To not put her on, in a game that effectively meant nothing is ridiculous and so disappointing.
What I’m really concerned about is how all of this publicity is affecting Mi Mi. The last thing we want is for her to walk away from the game because she feels the pressure is too much.
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 13 – VIXENS v FIREBIRDS #1313096I think Mi Mi should have started. It’s not like she hasn’t played this year and she’d had some cracking games earlier in the season. They could have seen how the game panned out and replaced her if needed. Yes Dunkley has earned her spot and I don’t want tokenism but FFS, it’s not like Mi Mi had been brought in from a community club. The statement from the Firebirds today made me feel worse about it.
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 13 – MAGPIES v LIGHTNING #1312542Wright’c coaching is so frustrating. Allen should be getting so much more court time. Sinclair cans ink a few long bombs but her court play leaves a lot to be desired. Having an 18 year old Allen come on for the power plays and expecting her to save the day is ridiculous. The defence end must be spewing, they turn the ball over a lot and it just gets thrown away.
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 8 – VIXENS v SWIFTS #1310325This was a cracker of a game definitely fitting for a top of the table clash. Both teams played quality netball and there were so excellent matchups. As a Vixens fan I
Me thrilled with the win but kudos to Swifts for a fabulous contest. It was so good to see 15 minutes of netball a quarter where neither team changed their game for the super shot.in reply to: Search for new Diamonds coach resumes #1310131Greenway has taken on the job of coaching Scotland so she isn’t in the picture. There is no need to take on someone that is from overseas when there are options here. I like her, she is a great analyst and she has a great coaching future but is still pretty inexperienced as a coach. One thing I didn’t like before the Roses new head coach was announced was that she was basically talking like she had the job and was the only candidate.
